Former Argentine President to face trial for covering up for Hezbollah, Iran

In 1994, 85 innocent civilians were killed in a bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hundreds more were wounded.

To this day, that bombing is the worst terrorist attack ever to take place on the South American continent.

The bombing is believed to have been a joint operation of Hezbollah and the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Recently there has been a new development in the case.

This is an obvious attempt by the Socialists to deflect their present poor governing and British success at controlling the Faulklands by attacking Menem. He didn't have such a great track record, but he at least tried to control Argentina's economic problems. He was corrupt (as pretty much all Latin American presidents are), but he pounded the Muslim general who tried to do a coup, so I can't see where he would have covered up any connections to Islamist terrorists.
