Santorum open to being Romney's running mate

(CNN) - If Mitt Romney becomes the Republican presidential nominee, rival Rick Santorum would not rule out the idea of becoming his running mate, the former Pennsylvania senator said in an interview on Monday.

Asked by the Christian Broadcasting Network if he would consider a vice presidential offer, Santorum said he would do everything he could to help the country.

"Of course. I mean, look. I would do in this race as I always say, this is the most important race in our country's history. I'm going to do everything I can. I'm doing everything I can."

It appears when this is all over even Santorum is ready to put aside differences for the good of the nation or is he just "taking another one for the team"?

He has about as much chance of being asked to be vp running mate as for Romney as Harry Reid does. Santorum would kill any chance of Romney winning.

How does the old saying go: Obviously light travels faster than sound, that’s why some people look smart till they open their mouth.

Just shut up already Santorum. Your mouth has done nothing but dig holes for yourself during the last two weeks. Just smile and look presidential. The more you talk, the more you sink.

He just said that he thinks that Romney is the worst Republican to run against some of Obama’s policies and now he is willing to be his running mate? Wow, is there no level these people will stoop to just to further their political career?

If anyone should get the VP slot it is Newt, he can handle the media.

Santorum needs to go.

So would he be labeled a RINO if he went on the ticket as MR’s veep?

I think Obama’s re-election is a pretty sure thing — unless he is found ineligible for the office. And, based on past events, I don’t hold out hope that the eligibility issue will ever be allowed to take hold.

Many have thought this as true. Santorum has no problems being Romney’s VP.

So Saintorum is ready to shake his Etch-a-Sketch.

But heck, maybe he would make a good VP.... here is an example of his thinking.... and his commitment to the rule of law.

Yet somehow his supporters consider their alter boy the “only real conservative” in the race.

“I think Obama’s re-election is a pretty sure thing”

I've felt that way for many months now. What causes me the most pain is Congress. I thought with the Tea Party strength, we'd be able to storm the Capital. I was hoping for strong gains in the House with capturing the Senate a possibility.

All that enthusiasm seems to have dissipated. I knew we'd be stuck with zero, but was hoping for a really strong firewall to hold him at bay (kind of the way clintoon was checkmated in the 90s’.)

But there sure doesn't seem to be any joy in Mudville at this point!

Except for the title (which is about a far as many Freepers will read these days) there is no indication that Santorum said he’d be Romney’s VP.

He said he’d consider a VP slot.

With a brokered convention, anyone (including Palin) is a possibility. Or at least that’s what we’re hoping for.

But he didn’t specifically say he’d be Romney’s VP.

Don’t let CNN do your thinking for you.

"Assault Rifle Ban" Romney and "Zim Has Dangerous Hobby" Santorum, together?

Two statist gun-grabbers for the price of 1?

Count me in!

NOT!
