Expected Louisiana Win May Be a Hollow Victory for Santorum.
The Hill ^ | March 24, 2012 | Cameron Joseph

Rick Santorum is likely to win Louisiana’s Saturday primary but a victory there won’t help him much, say Republican strategists.

“Winning Louisiana does nothing in the grand scheme of things,” said GOP strategist Tyler Harber. “It won’t give a huge boost of support to Rick Santorum. Winning these contests isn’t as important. It’s now about winning the delegates.”

At some point it may just be that even the Rinos understand that the people in flyover country will not vote for Mittens, and the people on the coasts will tend to vote for Obamalini anyway.

That’s reality.

You need to apologize for saying that to me. I posted a news article, which I deemed a reality check, based on facts and information in the article. Nothing more. You need to apologize and start behaving like the perfect christian you believe you and your candidate to be... I’m waiting.

If that’s the case - why the NEED for negative ad$ against Newt? That’s reality.

I wish that were the truth, but it seems the more impotent romney looks, the more they prop him. I think it was Thursday, when Jim deMint, after a meeting with Willard, said he was "excited" at the thought of romney as the nominess. that is a pretty big betrayal in my book, that I would have never expected in a million years.

That's why I have decided the last best hope for everybody but Mitt is to take it to the convention, and shake up their well-laid plans. for principles' sake, if nothing else.

And why does the White House respond to Newt's comments as if he were already the nominee. Newt starts talking about energy for a few weeks, and barack shows up at a keystone photo op. Newt starts talking about a brokered or open convention, and soon all the talk is about taking it to the convention.

He is setting the agenda because he is formidable enough to do it, even at 3rd place. His biggest problem is he isn't running for Pope...

Headlines before tonight said if he didn’t win, it’d be over. He wins and it means nothing.

The press should make this clear BEFORE the results come it.

They are listening to him, alright!

The other candidates/the GOP E - don’t have a thought between them - just trash Newt with negative ads or steal his words for their rhetoric.

If you are waiting for the malicious Santorum clique to begin acting like Christians, my only advice is, don't hold your breath.

I bet The Hill would not have found the victory to be hollow if it were Mitt's.

But the author is biased and part of the establishment. They are all pushing Santorum away, thinking he actually said he prefers Obama to Romney. Santorum would rise to the occasion as our nominee and as our president. Let there please be a chance to stop Romney.

How in the world is that going to happen if people like you keep tearing Santorum down? Santorum is the only in the race left that can win enough delegates to stop Romney and force a brokered convention. Has that sunk into your thick skull yet?

Newt candidacy is becoming an embarrassment. He couldn't even get 20% of the vote to earn delegates tonight. He is at seven percent in Wisconsin. So stop pretending he is viable of go play with your little dog and stop whining about Santorum.

It's to the point that most of Santorum's speeches contain more of Newt's thoughts, ideas, plans, visions than those of Santorum's speechwriters. It is really unseemly, santorum, after all, is the good christian candidate. But he never gives newt credits, or says that innocuous thing some candidates say, like I agree with my good friend and colleague, who says.... fill in the blank. He can't even do that.

Newt was his mentor. It is really sad to see, and even sadder how the people who follow him think he is this saint or something. that is the really sad part. He told his followers at a Colorado rally, "God called me to do this" - this kind of religious fervor is a very dangerous thing. Like one freeper said, santorum doesn't seem to understand, when govt opens the door to one religion's beliefs, it also swings the other way, given time. This is a big mess, simply because Santorum has nothing to offer as a candidate other than his behavioral goodness.

And why does the White House respond to Newt's comments as if he were already the nominee.

For the same reason it responds to Rush Limbaugh and Fox News.

Encourage him to get a talk show.
