Nobody asked you.
I am sorry for your loss. Your mother had her reasons for her decision and they have no connection to Mr. Cheney. Your mother may have had other things going on that she had not shared with you and that may have affected her decision.
It is hard, extremely hard, to lose a parent.
Bush (43) was a good man; Cheney would have been better as President however.
Cheney would have fought the bastards. As VP he was over ridden.
God Bless the Donor. Good Luck Mr. VP! Prayes up!
I’m sure the Facebook liberals and cable pundits and president are filled with warm concern for his well-being. < /sarc >
Finally a candidate for a brokered convention all can support. No vetting required! He’s only three years older than Newt. Only the bad heart kept him from running in the past. His congestive failure will be long gone by Tampa and his energy level should be good. And he can answer every question about his health with comments about Obamacare.

I love Dick Cheney and wish him well.
You'd have saved yourself a lot of unnecessary pummeling by stating that at the outset.
You have my sincere condolences, as my father was also only 68, and my little brother (sole sibling) only 44.
Your original comment was still callous, but at least, now, understandable.
Think he can be ready rested and nominated at the convention?????
sod off pal
Heard this on the radio today, was surprised by the news and said an immediate prayer for Mr.Cheney. God Bless him, what a great American. I will always remember that picture from the horrible inauguration day of Hussein where VP Cheney gave Hussein such a look of utter distrust. He knew how bad Hussein would be for our country.
Suggest you watch the video posted on the previous page. There are transplant centers that put the sickest at the top of the list, regardless of age, with no age limit for eligibility:

Prayers up for a speedy and remarkable recovery for Mr. Vice President. The Cheneys are one of America’s truly great families.
I bet he doesn’t think he’s too old for one.
Figure that at his age mentally he is not 67-70, whatever he is. He’s probably more like 25-30. My dad is in that age range and he just can’t believe it, he says he mentally feels about 25 or so.
I am sure he paid a lot even if insurance covered the lion’s share. His premiums alone given his conditions are probably high. Bottom line is I am positive he didn’t get it for free, VP or not.
I wonder when Obama will call Cheney’s family to offer his sorrow on what’s being said on other sites, those supportive of Obama.......
I love that photograph, Dick Cheney knew the disaster that was forthcoming with Obama.
God Bless Dick Cheney
Talk about a photo deserving a caption.
“You effing commie bastard liar...”
His own.
He’s had heart attacks, not transplants.
To add to your story of stupid liberals....this week I had 2 local WI libs (the worst kind of libs) tell me that the high price of gas is “not Obama’s fault”. It’s like they are all in a cult and have been brainwashed.
I refuse to read anything about Mr.Cheney on any website other than FR. I will not look at evil comments by liberals. They are a disgrace to America.
Heal up fast, Dick Cheney, your country needs you!
Prayers for my favorite Vice President!!
Whats the prognosis for him?
Is it too late to DRAFT him to run for the GOP?

I don't really wonder, b/c Mr. Cheney is irreplaceable.
(And if Mark is replacing him, ooh la la.)
#nowaronthiswomanhere:
Hussein might call the Cheney family,,,,right after he calls Sandra Fluke to make sure she has enough birth control devices for the rest of the weekend.
The photo on page one is also my favorite of Mr.Cheney. What a man. He sized Hussein up right. That look says it all.
The evil vitriol on social media from the “tolerant left” about this would make you sick.
A bunch of bloody hypocrites.
My husband had a heart transplant twenty months ago at the age of sixty-five. Although age can be a factor there are far more important criteria they follow. Overall health mst be excellent, absolutely no kidney, lung or other organ problems. Mental stability is extremely important and a persons activity is equally so. Body weight is a huge factor, a heart recipient must be almost perfect weight for their age and height. The donor lists are carefully managed nationally and great care is given that there is never any image of impropriety. A potential recipient is given a grade based on these factors along with their current heart condition and emergency need. My husband was a perfect recipient but his heart was dying, he was graded A1 status, the highest need and was on the transplant list for only two weeks. Other factors come in to play, such as, there may have been another recipient on the list longer than my husband with the same status. However, there must be a blood match with the donor and it moves accordingly. Incidentally, my husband is doing fabulous, is sixty six and he is working full time and pretty much lives a normal life. The medications are very easy. I would also like to add that our doctors told him that a transplant is frankly easier than bypass. Tom has had both and agrees. LOL....just wanted to clear up a few myths about transplant, the wonderful gift of life.
God bless him and his family. Hope he has a fast recovery.
I read the story on the Yahoo home page. The comments show the true colors of the so-called tolerant left.
This should annoy the treason party to no end.
It’s that way in the comments section of this story everywhere. But, it always is on anything similar, the liberals out themselves and they’re very, very ugly.
I adore that man so much, I always have. His health hasn’t been good for some time. The crap I’m reading on the lib sites is more than disgusting, but par for the course for the libs.
I still smile as I think of Cheney making that smarmy John Edwards look like a complete fool during the VP debate.
Sending my prayers ~
Thank you blueyon...thank you for reminding us. This heart didn’t grow on a tree. Someone had to give it up.
Make that heart count, Mr. Cheney.
Make it count.
Thanks for the information, what a wonderful story, the best to you and your husband for a long, productive life.
God bless Dick Cheney. We are praying for him and for his family. He is a fine man, husband, father and grandfather. May he live a long and healthy life doing good things for our country.
You should have told her Dr. that he was too old to do the surgery and then you should have gotten her to a better Dr.
God bless Dick Cheney and his family.
God bless this man, he has already given most of his life to his country. His recent book is amazing, a kind man, loving husband, father and grandfather. He deserves a life of ease now, he has certainly done his part.
I was curious about that too. A bit of google research turns up the following:
Even with an increased risk factor (such as VP Cheney's age), there's a 95% or higher chance of the surgery being initially successful. If the patient survives the first 30 days following a heart transplant, there's a 90% chance the patient will be alive at the end of the first year.
According to the American Heart Association (as of June, 2009), the one year survival rate for males was 88%. The three-year survival rate for males was 79.3%. The five-year survival rate for males was 73.1%. The longest heart transplant survivor was a 73-year-old American from Michigan who had lived 24 years after the surgery. Thus, in the best of circumstances, heart transplant life span can be as long as this, or in all likelihood, longer.
I would have to second those sentiments. He is a fine American patriot as well.
There is a funny story behind that photo you posted...it involves frantic efforts by the publisher early on a Sunday morning as the magazine was being distributed for insertion into the Sunday papers for delivery to try to get them all back!
Not really too old, until Obama care kicks in then 56 will be too old. with no complications he could live 10-15 more years. Prayers up.
a very historic picture, indeed.
A dark day for America.

New Ticker, Tan, Rested, and Ready! Cheney 2012
