I used to think home schooling was ridiculous. Not anymore.

It’s sad. Growing up I had quite a few teachers who were dedicated to teaching. If you needed tutoring, most teachers would work with you relentlessly until you learned the subject. Today,,,forget it.

I blame the unions, but I also blame government, school administrators and indifferent parents. A friend of mine is married to a teacher. At the last open house, most of the parents didn’t bother to show up. And any teacher who sincerely wants to teach is hamstrung by union rules and administrative micromanagement. My friend’s husband wanted to tutor one of his students after school. He was told by administrators and his union rep he wasn’t allowed. Some silly reason about liability to the school should the kid claim the teacher molested him, plus the union contract forbade working more than the 6 hours or whatever per day. Just amazing.

And we wonder why such a large percentage drop out and those who do graduate can’t read, write, do simple math or fill out a job application. But that may be part of the plan for when Obama becomes president for life. Can’t effectively run a dictatorship if the masses are educated.

No,...The fundamental problem is that government is a socialist-entitlement. It is built upon a foundation of compulsory collectivism. Nothing good can ever come from such a system.

While socialist-entitlement programs may start out not being so bad ( due to the values and professionalism of the workers) they eventually deteriorate. We will see the same thing with Obamacare. At first Obamacare won't be that bad ( due to the professionalism of those trained under the old value system) but in a generation or two, that is when the true horror of Obamacare will show forth.

I did too. These were teachers of my father's generation ( born 1913) when few Americans attended more than 8 years of school and most were schooled in one room school houses. Traditional rural and pioneer values were still strong, that is why these socialist-entitlement schools didn't seem so bad. But...It was inevitable. Socialist-entitlement programs ( such as government K-12 schooling), built on a foundation of collectivism, are bound to fail. Socialism is to blame, not the parents, the teachers, the students, the neighborhood, the media, the funding, not the legislators, or anything else. **Socialist collectivism ** always fails!

At the last open house, most of the parents didn’t bother to show up.

I have **never** been to a parent-teacher open house that wasn't a complete, total, and absolutely utter WASTE of my life and the teacher's! Maybe most parents eventually figure that out and give it up! Even when I have scheduled special time with the teacher and principal to discuss a specific problem, the teachers and principals do what they want. They absolutely do NOT want parent input.

But that may be part of the plan for when Obama becomes president for life. Can’t effectively run a dictatorship if the masses are educated.

BINGO!!! Spot on RIGHT!
