The U-shaped object, resembling a silvery dome, is currently under inspection by Russian experts, after being covertly removed under cover of night from the possession of villagers who found it.

After discovering the device on Sunday, locals from the village of Otradnesnky had managed to drag the UFO fragment from the thick forest where it had fallen. They attached it onto a trailer and took it through the snow to their village, where local inspectors then examined it before alerting Moscow authorities.
In an official statement, Sergey Bobrov, who found the object, agreed to keep it safe.
But following their stealthy removal of the 200-kilogram metal fragment, police have it under close guard, on orders from unnamed authorities.
The device has not had its provenance confirmed as of yet. However, the object does not come from a rocket or missile or be in any way associated with terrestrial space technology, it has been announced.
The object found is not related to space technology. A final conclusion can be made after a detailed study of the object by experts, said Roscosmos, theRussianspace agency.
Experts have also examined the object to determine whether it poses a hazard.
We measured the radiation level near and inside the object. We found no radiation here, said Yuri Bornyakov, who heads the rescue service department of the Kuybyshevsky district in the Novosibirsk region.
Part of the fragment is made of ultra-strong titanium, said Valery Vasiliev,

Probably a "stage ring" protecting the nozzle from a rocket, my guess, between second and third stage booster,
or bottom cover to a satellite.

Did YOU listen?
I didn’t listen.

Hey, takes a lot of vodka antifreeze in Siberia this time of year.
Who knows what you might find stumbling around in the woods?
To: Yosemitest
It looks like the first stage “cap” for a rocket (possibly a Zenit).

Strange video at the site, seems to show
something in the sky, then a house with a hole in
the roof, then the big object on the ground.
Looks like the top of a silo.
could it be connected to THIS??

Possibly part of this Proton rocket and its Breeze M upper stage from Russias Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
Or maybe it was off this heavy-lift Ariane 5 rocket launched on March 23 from Europes Guiana Space Center in French Guiana.
On second thought, since
it was found March 21, 2012, it couldn't have been the Ariane 5.

The U-shaped objectAll that they need now is to find an F-shaped object and an O-shaped object, and they'll have the complete UFO.

200 kilograms = 441 lbs
Pretty light for it's size...it looks like it is on its back and there are rollers along the top edge....Part of a helicopter?? Radar?

One think you know for sure. It is not part of a Chevy Volt. 1) They barely attain enough power to cross and intersection let alone go airborne,2) platicizers arn’t leaking form this thing, and 3) there are no plug in stations for oh......several thousand miles.

They've got the shy bladder syndrome and Siberia is one of the biggest open areas they can find on earth that has plenty of trees against which to micturate undisturbed and unobserved.

Siberia must be like Disney World to aliens or something...After years of hearing about alien abductions, body probes of human and animal orifices, hybrid babies, and UFO drive-bys, etc. I've started to suspect that the rest of the universe considers our planet as something akin to. NYC's Port Authority Bus Station ( or pick the Inner City Hellhole of your choice).

The van is in the background.Okay, you might be right about that one. But how do explain that the object is covered in shaving cream?
To: Yosemitest
The diameter of a Proton is 4.1 metres, and this object looks like it has a diameter less than four metres.

OK..Facts in evidence: Unknown object falls from sky covered in shaving cream.
Pretty much stands to reason that someone was going to shave it DON’T YA’ THINK????

To: Army Air Corps
I don't know your expertise.

I'm just a retired military air traffic controller,
but my brother worked at Kwajalein Island Long Range Radar for several years.
My guess is it came off that rocket lauched Feb 15th, stayed in a decaying orbit for a few days and reentered the atmosphere
as filmed.
As you suggested, a Zenit rocket with Phobos-Grunt lifted off
on November 6, 2011.

Your brother served on Kwajalein? Man, I knew a guy who was there for a bit in the early 1990s; he said that was the most remote duty assignment he had.

"My guess is it came off that rocket lauched Feb 15th, . . ."As good a guess as any.
But, the object was found last Sunday. There is no indication of how long the thing might have been there before it was found. Could have been a year, a . . . . .
