President Barack Obama weighed in on the "tragedy" of Trayvon Martin's death last week, saying it is "absolutely imperative" that all levels of government investigate "every aspect" of how the unarmed boy was shot.
"I can only imagine what these parents are going through," Obama said, adding "When I think about this boy I think about my own kids."
"I am glad that not only is the Justice Department is looking into this, but the Governor of the State of Florida has put together a task force [to investigate the case]," Obama said. Obama carefully avoided any discussion of George Zimmerman, the man who shot Martin, and has controversially avoided arrest under Florida's "Stand Your Ground" self-defense laws.
"My main message is to the parents: If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon. I think they are right to expect that all of us as Americans are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves."

Actually, Obama is not dividing the country (from his POV)...he is solidifying it against the White devils (in a manner consistent with Black Liberation Theology).
The difficulty is that there isn’t much real information available. The race pimps have been working this hard. It could be a case of unprovoked hispanic on black violence. Alternatively, the kid (whom I have read was 6’2” and 200lbs - the pictures of him when he was younger notwithstanding) may have circled back and jumped the hispanic.
It is impossible to tell at this point what happened, but given past race-baiting hoaxes like the Twana Brawley incident and many others, people ought to just stop blathering about this.

Judging by the reactions to these news reports, I'm certain some posters here still think Brawley was really raped.

I will get all irate over this Trayvon Martin incident the minute Obammie pays attention to the white boy set on fire by blacks in Kansas City or the couple in Tulsa that was just shot by a boy that might look like Obama’s son if he had one.
The couple was married 65 years. She died. The husband was shot in the face, but is still alive.
I could list 10 incidents on white on black crime for every one Trayvon Martin incident.
So why do these racists enflame this Zimmerman shooting while ignoring hundreds of real “hate crimes”?
Because shooting a whitey is no big deal. Happens all the time.

Exactly. And all we have is the word of Zimmerman and possibly a witness or two. So the race-baiters will get to remain smug and demand "justice" regardless of the outcome of any investigation.
