Barack Obama is committed to killing off the family farm – an American tradition.
For generations children and adults have worked together on the family farm. Those days are over.
Senators John Thune (R-S.D.) and Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) today introduced the Preserving America’s Family Farm Act, to prevent the Department of Labor (DOL) from enacting its controversial proposed restrictions that would ban children from working on family farms.
Senator Thune spoke out against the Obama Administration’s proposed labor rules for youth who work on farms and ranches on the Senate floor.
The Obama Administration’s rules are so strict they would restrict minors from handling most animals and even from using battery-powered screwdrivers.

BTW, there’s a bill in the CO legislature for reorganizing part of the State’s HHS (CO DHS) services regarding kids. It’s a UN-related thing. If it passes, the State will monitor much more about children and their households.
IMO, the only correction in sight is the default process to force smaller government, but there will be a whole lot of pain for the next tiers of middle class families cut from the ever more exclusive economy (debt regime radically shrinking sooner or later).

Who knew that I was once a criminal? I pulled tarps from a catching frame when I was 11 and 12 in the orchards of northern California. When I was 15, I started driving tractor and/or forklift every summer until I graduated from high school.
When Obama is done with America, we won't recognize it. Just damn.

Speaking of that, one of my favorite things to do at county fairs is to visit the livestock exhibits. Just about all the hogs, goats, lambs, sheep, etc. were raised by kids -- often pre-teen kids. When they sell their livestock at the fair auction, they don't really make too much money for their efforts, but it instills in them a rock-solid work ethic.
It would be a real shame to see Obama put an end to that. I have no doubt that the Communist-in-Chief truly hates America. There can be no other explanation for his wholesale destruction.

Have to pry the heirs away from the family farm so they know nothing of the family business and will be all too willing to part with it as they grow older.
Also puts a fork in the meme that these farm jobs are work Americans just WON’T do.

Thune needs to defund the DOL. Simple as getting the few non RINO’s in line and running with that.

Farm/rural life is independent life.
And those who are independent aren’t easily controlled.
The rural way of life is a threat to the left. In fact, any self-sufficient way of living is anethema to them. All good citizens must be dependent on the government for their basic needs.

IMO, this will be shot down in Federal court. After all, why have your kids clean their rooms when you could hire a maid?
