ormer Florida Governor Jeb Bush endorsed Mitt Romney after Romney’s lopsided win in Illinois Tuesday night. The former Florida Governor – a Republican heavyweight – called on members of the party to coalesce behind Romney.

“Congratulations to Governor Mitt Romney on his win last night and to all the candidates for a hard fought, thoughtful debate and primary season,” said Bush in a statement. “Primary elections have been held in thirty-four states, and now is the time for Republicans to unite behind Governor Romney and take our message of fiscal conservatism and job creation to all voters this fall. I am endorsing Mitt Romney for our Party’s nomination. We face huge challenges, and we need a leader who understands the economy, recognizes more government regulation is not the answer, believes in entrepreneurial capitalism and works to ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to succeed.”

Bush, the brother of former President George W. Bush, is a much-respected voice in the party and was considered by some to be a leading contender for the nomination if he had d was courted by some conservatives as an alternative candidate. But he rejected calls for his candidacy. Romney also won the primary in Bush’s home state of Florida.

His father, former President George H.W. Bush has also endorsed Romney.

“Despite Romney’s shortcomings on conservative principles he would be infinitely better as President than a second term for Obama.”

Just as Heinrich Himmler proved to be a more competent administrator than Ernst Rohm. Fact.

No sale, no Willard, not now, not ever.

One more thing, our political and electoral process has been completely undermined and compromised and has been for many years, with tens of millions in the country illegally, the fraud is up to the rooftops. Most have no idea how bad it is.

Another fact is, most of these political insiders are all riding in the same limo. Some can't figure it out, others will never admit it.

The only choice the Republican party will be given, is Romney. The fix is in.

Why is it I don’t feel like a Republican anymore?

I consider it the curse of coming to the place where your eyes are wide open, while those around you continue to lurch around in the political darkness.

Truth be told, the Republican party never represented our views. It's only now that we have come to a point where we see what it has been up to for decades.

We've got two parties that are craven Leftists. Even the best of players on our side have serious flaws.

We need someone who can reach out across party lines (and yes I know what folks will think when they see that lead...) in a healthy manner, and reconcile the chasm between us. Where is Ronald Reagan when we desperately need him again?

Given a Republican Congress, you wonder how much more the man could have accomplished.

Wonder if Obama will be hanging with Romney, BJ Clinton and the rest of the Bushes at their summer retreat this year...

They are all on one team...I'm on the other...

Let me tell ya something sonny.

*Anyone* who is endorsed by a Bush, will never, ever receive my support, because it won't matter anyway.

In a 2 party system? Very predictable. You will probably have the opportunity to vote for a national candidate you are genuinely excited to cast a ballot for maybe once or twice in your life. For probably most us, that was Reagan. Voting for the lesser of 2 evils is what happens in a system where there is no opportunity for coalition building.

I’d rather see it all just crash and burn and then start over. It would be less painful.

I agree completely. Time to bite down hard.

Bush 41 also became too friendly with Clinton for my liking. The gop is swinging to the left..true conservatives are becoming an endangered species in this country.

But Jeb is anti-conservative and anti-tea party. So the base is not happy with him and his family.

"While things are no totally over for Santorum and certainly over for Gingrich, I think we have to resign ourselves to Romney being the GOP nominee. Despite Romney’s shortcomings on conservative principles he would be infinitely better as President than a second term for Obama. What conservatives need to do is stick to our principles and see that Romney runs to the right of center and picks a team that includes many conservatives. We have to avoid the mealy mouthed middle of the road lets compromise with liberals that was the hallmark of the McCane disaster. Obama is beatable if we stick to his record and put some fire in Romney’s belly."

Kind of like Lucy & Charlie Brown with the football. They've been pulling this garbage on Conservatives forever. We hold our nose & vote for their RiNOs. Maybe you're ready to resign yourself that Romney will be the GOP nominee, but you may be surprised to learn that all of us are not okay with that.

So now, our principles are to see that Romney runs to the right of center & picks a Conservative team!! We'll just send that message to Romney & like Obama - he'll say anything to get elected. We'll just brain wash ourselves into forgetting about what he did as Governor & we'll feel better about pretending that he's the only Conservative in this presidential race. We'll soldier up & vote for him to make the GOP happy, & they'll just keep doing this to us in the next election, & all future elections - if in fact, the country is not destroyed by that time.

We'll be like the black vote that the RATS depend on to get elected.....after all, where else will we go? The old game of 'they won't vote for Obama, so we don't have to worry'.

I voted for McCain because of Sarah, but I'm opting out of playing the game anymore!

What’s going to be funny is that as Romney continues to build his confidence that he has cemented the nomination, he’ll start moving back to center. His natural impulse is moderate, and he’ll think he doesn’t have to throw red meat to the right anymore. So expect a bunch of non-conservative gaffes from Romney. The Republican media will try to knock them down, but the remaining primaries might start to fan the flames if people who lean conservative start seeing Romney swerve left again. Romney is still going to get some beatings, I expect even if he does think this is done.
