Rick Santorum’s camp hits Mitt Romney on Bain tenure

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum’s campaign is taking aim at rival Mitt Romney’s tenure at the helm of Bain Capital.....

[SNIP]

Back in January, when Perry and Gingrich were hitting the former Massachusetts governor hard on his Bain tenure, Santorum had told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, “I hate to sit here and be a defender of Mitt Romney, but to me this is federal capitalism, and I have to say that this is an attack probably not warranted.”

“Bain Capital, at least from the record I looked at, had a lot of success,” Santorum said at the time. “I mean they weren’t a company that has a long track of record basically destroying the companies and selling off the pieces. They had some situations where they had failures but every company does.”

Is there anything of Newt's that Santorum won't copy?

A chance to pander to the left by sitting on a couch with Nancy Pelosi and proclaiming the importance of the fight to end global warming?

Federal healthcare individual mandates under penalty of law.

As an aside I think Santorum should not attack venture capitalism any more than Newt should which is to say not at all. Leftist bs.

I’m not hearing Santorum promise to create a whole new Federal environmental agency like Newt.

So you are saying Rick Santorum never pandered to the left?

Votes for planned parenthood
Endorses Alen Spector
Endorses Mitt Romney
Is a team player when it comes to playng politics?

Just who are you talking about not pandering? Give me a break.

If this goes to the convention, Santorum will be the nominee; but not for the reasons one may think. When it becomes apparent to the “E”s that they will not be able to pull their soul mates across the finish line, they will go for the candidate they can control. That candidate is Rick Santorum. Played for a fool by the people who wanted to rid the party of Newt, starting a chain of events that eventually gave us John “Crybaby” Boehner (oddly one of the original backstabbers), he has proved time and time again that his “principles” are for sale. The bigs will eventually coalesce around the marionette from Pennsylvania.

Oh come on, he is already named here as Saint Ricky the Holy One.

If y’all found out he cheated you would have to change the whole narrative.

Ricky, the Fallen One, the bad boy hypocrite, can’t win if he does or doesn’t. LOL Has a certain ring to it. /sarc

I do understand what you are saying and it is very true. We never know for sure, but if there is a hidden bimbo, we should know soon.

Maybe but I don’t think so. The estabishment guys are too worried about their own jobs, and they believe that Rick S. would be a diaster for the down ticket. I happen to think they are right, but I don’t care if they lose their jobs really. The republican establishment is part of the problem. It is hard to imagine at this point anyway Mitt loses, brokered convetntion or no. I hate it, becaue he will lose in November.

Have you seen this? From roughly a year after the regretted couch incident. Nothing says “I’m Sorry” like b*tch-slapping Gore :-)

Perry and Newt are for amnesty and not just for grandmothers. They both had no business being in this race. New got clobbered in FL and lost big time in every single major demographic in a must win state. He has since never recovered. His is simply unelectable and has never been able to shake off his sky-rocketing negatives and his Grand Canyon-size gender gap. His own “southern strategy” went up in smoke. Why he continues to be a spoiler and help Romney is beyond comprehension. Perry got TKO’d in debate after debate. The only viable alternative to Romney is Santorum. Want evidence? Election results do matter. Go check the states he’s won and doing so on a shoestring budget and is now besting Obama in four core states. Time for the disappointed Newties to call off their anti-Santorum jihad and wake up to the reality.

.....Bain Capital is not the Capitalism that majority of Americans believes including a majority of conservatives and it represents the ugly side of business and most importantly it is a great political loser.

Then in FL Mitt pounded Newt with negative ads - $2Million/day for 10 DAYS! Including that deceitful :30 sec news lead-in piece by Brokaw! Mitt has no scruples and I do NOT want him as president.

The unforgiving and small minded with no core like to feather themselves up and roost on the existance of those previous weird exwives of Newt, but swiftly lower their high faluting standards down around their ankles when it comes to issuing equally scandalous indictments against the salty past of Santorum’s poor wife, Karen.

Neither of the candidates deserve this cheap finger pointing, when Karen has redeemed herself and Newt has repented, recieved absolution and is happily married.

By these ignorant claims and standards, they elevate only Romney to the proper purity standard.

Ignore these coreless wags.

"The bigs will eventually coalesce around the marionette from Pennsylvania. "

Not a chance. Won't happen.

The uncommitted super-delegates will not support Santorum.

However, at this point things look moot. Look at the latest PPP poll out of Illinois. Romney leads by 15 points.

Santorum's crash is picking up steam because every time he opens his mouth he appears to be a hypocrite, mean 'ol church lady or just plain dumb.

Soon even the committed SoCons will be looking for another horse.

This is the same old tired anti-Santorum stuff. Newt needs to withdraw. He’s unelectable with soaring unfavorability ratings and a gender gap that is oceans apart. We’ve had enough of his loony (like in lunar) big ideas and that does not include his amnesty proposal (oh, I forgot just for grandmothers). He simply continues to be the spoiler in the race despite calls for him to quit by some many. Carl Cameron was spot on when he reported on Super Tuesday night on Fox News that Team Romney is “happy” to see Gingrich continue in the race. Gingrich is now a saboteur in the effort to derail Romney.
