'AMERICAN IDOL': WORSHIP OBAMA, NOT JESUS CHRIST
Breitbart ^ | March 16, 2012 | Christian Toto

Posted on 03/17/2012 7:46:57 AM PDT by NYer

Contestant Elise Testone on Fox's fading pop star showcase "American Idol" sang a duet of sorts with Obama this week as part of her cover performance of the Al Green classic "Let's Stay Together."

Just imagine anything of the sort being done with former President George W. Bush. Impossible, we know. But now word is out that a spiritual "Idol" wannabe has been told in no uncertain terms by the producers not to sing the praises of Jesus Christ, according to The Daily News:

American Idol” producers have apparently warned Colton Dixon if he doesn’t tone down his overtly Christian act, he won’t have a prayer of winning the reality competition.

The 20-year-old devout Christian, though, told Today.com that he answers to a higher authority than voting viewers.

When we first started the Twitter and Facebook stuff, they said beware of political and religious tweets,” Dixon told the site. “Just because it can turn off voters or whatever. But, you know, being a Christian is who I am. It is a part of me musically. It is what I want to do after the show — go into Christian music.

So singers giving a shout out to the Lord might be offensive to some viewers, but a segment glorifying Obama, a divisive president hampered with sagging poll numbers, is A-OK with the show's producers?

I saw this on “Idol,” and I got the clear impression that it was mocking Zero’s singing. It was hardly a “duet.” The whole thing lasted no more that 3 - 4 seconds.

“Why on earth does the Left find Christianity so offensive”...

Because of the (true) Christian’s God, the Holy One, the Most High One—they do not want to be accountable to Him.

Jesus prayed for His disciples in John 17 and said that the world hates them because they are not of the world, even as He is not of the world. He told them that the world had hated Him first.

Christianity holds a mirror to ones soul, the left does not like what it sees and wants to destroy the mirror, the right doesn’t like what it sees and asks for forgiveness and a desire to change.

I once had a copy of Black Liberation Theology's "Statement of 'faith'". I did global search-and replaces to change "BLACK" to "WHITE" and "AFRICAN" to "AMERICAN" -- and was told that the result was "one of the most rabidly racist things I've ever seen" by everyone who read it.

Wright's "church" seems to have removed it from their website. Does anyone have -- or know where to get -- a copy of the original?

Not sure what you're referring to, but how's this?

"Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal".--James (Jim) Cone,
African American Religious Thought: An Anthology (Paperback)
by Cornel West (Editor), Eddie S. Glaude Jr. (Editor)

WRIGHT: If you're not going to talk about theology in context, if you're not going to talk about liberation theology that came out of the '60s, systematized black liberation theology that started with Jim Cone in 1968 and the writings of Cone and the writings of Dwight Hopkins and the writings of womynist theologians and Asian theologians and Hispanic theologians, then you can't talk about the black value system.

HANNITY: But I'm a — reverend

WRIGHT: Do you know liberation theology, sir?

"The Justice Department originally brought the case against four armed men who witnesses say derided voters with catcalls of "white devil" and "cracker" and told voters they should prepare to be "ruled by the black man." ..."

One poll watcher called police after he reportedly saw one of the men brandishing a nightstick to threaten voters.

As I walked up, they closed ranks, next to each other,” the witness told Fox News at the time. “So I walked directly in between them, went inside and found the poll watchers. They said they’d been here for about an hour. And they told us not to come outside because a black man is going to win this election no matter what.”

He said the man with a nightstick told him, “’We’re tired of white supremacy,’ and he starts tapping the nightstick in his hand. At which point I said, ‘OK, we’re not going to get in a fistfight right here,’ and I called the police.”...”

It was hardly a “duet.” The whole thing lasted no more that 3 - 4 seconds.

Yes, and the contestant may not have even had any say over it. She just happened to be singing the same song BO "sang," so they spliced a little "duet" together. If I were that contestant, I'd be furious because people who hate Obama might be inclined not to vote for her because of it.

As for Colton Dixon, it looks to me like the producers told all of the contestants to beware of political and religious tweets, but did not single out Colton or order them NOT to post such tweets. Colton is just the only one who's talking about it. I actually agree with the producers about the political tweets. But I'm glad to learn Colton is not going to stop with the Christian tweets. Last year's winner was very open about his Christianity, and there have been several other outspoken Christians who have done very well on the show. So I don't think Colton's posts will hurt him at all.

Why on earth does the Left find Christianity so offensive, and by extension, so offensive to the rest of America?

My short answer to this is usually: Because they are working for the other side.

The longer I live I find that answer to be less of an exaggeration.

“The show is fading -

Have not watched it for several years.”

Thanx for the first-hand observation.

J-Ho is a no talent hack.

Let’s hear you sing without a microphone, J-Ho, and no dancing allowed, because anyone with a brain knows you can’t sing and dance at the same time, you little lip syncher you.

These folks like J-Lo etc have forgotten the economic system and the values that made this country and what got them to where they are. To go forward they must now embrace the out-of-wedlock kids, drugs, gay rights, and the radical feminist agenda. Unless we hit back and hit back hard, they won’t get the message. Let’s use the tactic of the left- Call the advertisers and threaten boycotts. Nothing else works.

I watch the show for the singing and secondly the judges comments. Miss Simon. These judges are too easy, however they seem to have become more critical (and inconsistent) in the last two weeks.

There are 3 singers on this year who are among the best ever. And the group is highly competitive.

I hope it stays on forever.

If someone wants to do a church song, let em bring it and be judged against the others. In fact, they might consider a gospel themed week for a change of pace. Don’t think they have done that. Elvis did it, why not Idol.
