Obama Admin OKs Using Aborted Babies Brains in Lab Tests
by Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 3/16/12 1:18 PM
The Obama administration is getting grief from a pro-life group for approving an experiment using the remains of the bodies of unborn children victimized in abortion for research continues in U.S. laboratories.
Scott Fischbach, the director of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life uncovered the information showing a clinical trial approved by the Food and Drug Administration uses brain tissue from aborted unborn babies to treat macular degeneration. StemCells Inc. will inject fetal brain stem cells into the eyes of up to 16 patients to study the cells effect on vision.
In its press release announcing the clinical trial, StemCells Inc. was careful to refer to the fetal brain material as purified human neural stem cell product or HuCNS-SC cells, rather than fresh human fetal brain tissue, a description which can be found elsewhere on its website.
StemCells Inc. is not using embryonic stem cells. A five-day-old human being at the embryonic stage does not have a brain, but a fetus at 10 or 20 weeks of development with visible fingers, toes and ears has a functioning brain, said Fischbach. Developing human beings in the womb are treated simply as raw material for laboratory experimentation by StemCells Inc. and other companies seeking to monetize aborted unborn children.
In the press announcement, StemCells Inc. calls the use of the brains from babies killed in abortions truly unique.
With the approval of this trial, we have accomplished something truly unique in the stem cell field, which is the extension of clinical testing of our proprietary human neural stem cell platform to all three elements of the central nervous system: the brain, spinal cord and eye, said Martin McGlynn, President and CEO of StemCells, Inc. The preclinical data supporting our IND is particularly compelling and we look forward to getting this trial underway.
Fischbach said the dehumanization of nascent human life, applied to human embryos in order to justify the exploitation of embryonic stem cells, is now being applied to the harvesting of brain tissue from more developed unborn babies with functioning brains.
But he said the problem is not unique to StemCells Inc pointing out that the misleadingly-named Birth Defects Research Laboratory at the University of Washington in Seattle is known within the research community as a top government distributor of fetal tissue.
The lab has been sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for over four decades, according to a report in WORLD Magazine. The Puget Sound Business Journal stated that the lab in 2009 filled more than 4,400 requests for fetal tissue and cell lines. WORLD reports that the Seattle facility has retrieved the products of 22,000 pregnancies to date; the lab collects aborted fetuses from abortion centers across the country.
Experimental fetal stem cell treatments have yielded horrific results, he said.
Dr. David Prentice, an internationally recognized expert on stem cells and cloning, cites trials in which fetal stem cells have been used unsuccessfully to treat Parkinsons disease. The New York Times called the outcome of a 2001 study devastating after the patients writhed and jerked uncontrollably. Another large clinical trial published in 2003 showed similar results.
The use of morally illicit material in the biomedical industry violates the do no harm principle that has governed the practice of medicine for millennia, Fischbach said. Adult stem cells offer the ethical and efficacious alternative. Unborn babies deserve dignity, not dissection and destruction.
Locally, he said it is not known whether the University of Minnesota is experimenting with material from aborted fetuses, but it does use stem cells extracted from human embryos, which are killed in the process. Minnesotas Human Conceptus Statute 145.422 prohibits the use of a living human conceptus for any type of research or experimentation.
MCCL calls upon the U of M to pledge not to purchase or use fetal material in its research, Fischbach added. Such gruesome work violates human dignity and has no place in our state-funded institutions.
Can’t have it both ways. If a candidate or group brings this up this time, they will be accused of steering the election away from the economy onto social issues and *gasp*, we might lose.
Social issues have to be ceded to the democrats because someone might call you Saint_________, you fill in the blank.
Thanks Linda. I figure since this country is fixated on *spit* “birth control” right now...what’s he got to lose reporting on this!!??
Nobody is saying we should cede social issues. We are saying that for the vast majority of people family values begin with putting a roof over your families head and food in their bellies.
Research on these poor innocent souls have been going on for decades. My mother-in-law worked at University of Ne medical center in the neonatal research lab. The doctor she worked for was Catholic and would not go to get the aborted babies, my mother-in-law had to do that, yet this doctor, she did not have a problem doing the research. I did not find this out until after my mother-in-law retired. She broke down one day and told me. I talked with her about going to God with it, but then would not talk to me anymore about it....I prayed for her...she has since died.
The abortion industry is just that, a great big INDUSTRY, and seeking to get bigger every day. Power seekers like Obama are aiding and abetting them all they can. Bottom line? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ - Follow the money.
. . and what do they have to show for it at the end of the day? A fancy coffin or decorative urn buried six feet under; and the judgement of God.

PLease read Linda Frances' comment. And, there is no difference between using aborted babies body parts and what Nazis did. It's just a slight matter of degree, and we're heading quickly towards the greater degree 24/7.
Well yes people are doing just what I said. You hear it everyday.
This seems as evil as evil gets.
You are evading my point. I agree there are people calling Rick “reverend”, “little Ricky” etc. everyday.
Address the point I made:
“Nobody is saying we should cede social issues. We are saying that for the vast majority of people family values begin with putting a roof over your families head and food in their bellies.”
You are right about that. What's really bad is, they we not suppose to do that then. I remember years ago when I first got involved in the pro-life movement, they were accused of doing research on aborted babies and they denied it. My mother-in-law did not tell me until years later. If I had known that back then, I would have begged her to tell her story.
And you thought the term 0bamaZombie was just an epithet.
Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly despise these people any more than I already do.
They stopped when they realized the dead babies’ brains still worked better than any of the live brains in the Obama administration.
I sent out the post below this week on another thread saying for some people what is happening to our country is more important than money.
It was another Rick vs Newt.
I see a man of heart and soul & a man who is highly intelligent. Together they would be phenomenal. That is the big argument we see here with the Newt vs Rick people. We both sides see qualities in these men that we want.
I got this off the ADF website.
The Agenda to Indoctrinate Children at School
These are quotes from a big leftist who want to change what your kids think You may come to the conclusion that growing up means rejecting the values of your parents.
If we do our jobs right, were going to raise a whole generation of kids who dont believe [the claims of Christianity].
James Anderson, the former communications director of the
Gay, Lesbian, and Straight
There is an intense battle for the mind and soul of children at publicly funded schools where the dominant secular culture is undermining the Christian teaching of parents like you. Students are under great pressure to conform to the schools radical, anti-Christian views on issues such as abortion and homosexual behavior, which are imposed on them by secular textbooks, administrators, and teachers.
In fact, in states like Massachusetts where same-sex marriage has been fabricated school children as young as kindergarten are forced to learn about homosexual behavior in class with or without parental permission.
As a result of this anti-Christian indoctrination in school, countless students begin questioning their faith and ultimately turn away from the Church by the time they graduate from high school.
Gay agenda is being pushed on schoolkids (Judge rules school must allow access to sexually explicit LGBT sites. A federal judge has ordered a Missouri school district to unblock its web filters and give students access to sexually explicit material by the middle of March.)
I have 3 sons and 4 grandsons & 2 granddaughters and I do not want them exposed to the lefts lies. I want there innocence protected. If the media was reporting the important things that Obama, his leftist gay friends and the media is doing to steal our childrens heart and soul; most people would be outraged.
Last week some here were debating Newt and Rick. I could tell some were very anti-faith, so I tried to stay on economics. Finally I said that there are some things that are more important them money. I was excoriated and told it was the most selfish, mean, hateful thing this person heard. Maybe I did not explain good enough what I meant, but all of us nowayromney people can work together.
What good is having lots of money if your kids/grandkids grow up to be faithless, self-induldgent, sex obsessed, big leftist? Part of us, lives on in our kids and grandkids. We have to protect them at all costs.
This is only one part of the cultural issue. I think Rick could hit obama right between the eyes with this. Example: Obama believes that it is not only ok to have an abortion up to 9 months in the womb, but also AFTER a baby is born. Lots of women have had an abortion and feel guilty (I was a counselor at a Crisis Pregnancy Center for years & worked with those considering and those who have had an abortion) He could say something like. There are millions of hurting women out there who are victims (the left likes to make people victims, we can throw it back at them) of people like obama who told them, its ok to get an abortion, it’s not a baby, so they did out of fear or panic. Then later it hits them what they did and they realize they can’t take back what happened and wish they could. These women are suffering because of the lies of the left who don’t value life. Even life of a newly born baby. I have worked with these women and there are millions of them looking for someone to speak to there issue in a compassionate way.
We could go from social issue to issue. Many people out here are scared and don’t like what they see this country turning into. I’m one of those. Newt people can cover the economics.....
Yet they'll fight you tooth and nail to prevent you from showing her an ultrasound of her fetus.
I know a young girl who years ago fell for it all. She thought they were sort of an OK institution...
She had no intention if aborting, she merely wanted that ultrasound.
Well, they gave her one ... but WOULD NOT show her the monitor, no matter how she begged them.
She went home crying, to tell her parents that she was pregnant...
Her Mother arranged for another...with an honest tech, who not only showed her the monitor, but sweetly and lovingly explained to her what she was seeing.
Remember this the next time you read about PP being pushed to provide ultrasounds... they may relent and give one, but I’ll almost guarantee you that the same thing will occur and another young girl will be told “there’s nothing to see”....
Help us, our Dear Lord Jesus, Help us.
