The controversy over requiring voters to provide photo IDs has reached the world stage.
The United Nations Human Rights Council is investigating the issue of American election laws at its gathering on minority rights in Geneva, Switzerland.. This, despite the fact that some members of the council have only in the past several years allowed women to vote, and one member, Saudi Arabia, still bars women from the voting booth completely.
Officials from the NAACP are presenting their case against U.S. voter ID laws, arguing to the international diplomats that the requirements disenfranchise voters and suppress the minority vote.
Eight states have passed voter ID laws in the past year, voter ID proposals are pending in 32 states and the Obama administration has recently moved to block South Carolina and Texas from enacting their voter ID measures.
"This really is a tactic that undercuts the growth of your democracy," said Hillary Shelton, the NAACP's senior vice president for advocacy, about voter photo ID requirements.
In a Fox News interview prior to his trip, Shelton said the message from the NAACP delegation to the Human Rights Council is that the photo ID law "undercuts the integrity of our government, if you allow it to happen. It's trickery, it's a sleight-of-hand. We're seeing it happen here and we don't want it to happen to you, and we are utilizing the U.N. as a tool to make sure that we are able to share that with those countries all over the world."

What the Rats refuse to realize is that many of the third world countries already have voter ID laws.
The NAACP should be declared illegal. This is outrageous!

if the GOP is smart- which they’re not- they beat the rats over the head with this and remind everyone the demoKrats want the UN to stand on their side and disenfranchise ordinary, taxpaying Americans their legal vote by helping to prevent fraud...

In addition, each voter should have a paper trail of their vote with a purple thumb (print). Even for early voting, a print should be required.

As far back as I can remember, I have shown my DL along with my voter registration card whenever I voted. I do what’s required of EVERYONE. The UN can pound sand. So can the NAACP.
But, only maybe.
The curious thing here....is every nation in Europe.....requires you by 18 to have a national ID, which you have to show to vote. Almost all of the Middle East countries....require you to have a national ID by age 18, and you need it to vote.
There are only ten nations without a true and mandated national ID: Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, Norway, the UK, Ireland, Denmark, India, and the US.
So you can imagine the US crew standing there....and almost everyone listening at the meeting...requires an ID by age eighteen...to do anything, from voting to buying booze. The chief country that might have supported your statement? The US. You could have stated this statement back in Detroit or Miami, but instead spent $15k on a couple of guys traveling first-class to Geneva and staying at a fine hotel for a couple of nights.
Other than getting the cooperation of maybe Tonga and the Christmas Islands...there wasn’t much to be gained.

Maybe we should FORGET VOTER ID; let’s just make TAXPAYERS the only “Eligible to Vote” group, and get rid of interlopers, inner-city parasites, etc. from Eligibility to vote for handouts, when they don’t PAY A DIME to live here.
