To: Happy Rain
Gingrich is the only conservative in this race; Santorum and Romney are virtually identical big-government nanny-staters, and the GOP-e wants Romney only because they think that Santorum’s self-righteous preachiness will be a turn-off in the general elections. Otherwise the two are the same.
What this says to me is that GOP voters have now adopted the socialist welfare-state as the default model and are only opposed to Obama because they want it in a different package. And in the general elections, most voters overall will be happy with the current package and vote for Obama, since neither Santorum or Romney offers any substantive differences.

Unless you are a card-carrying member of the John Birch Society, then how in the heck do you explain the lifelong voting ratings (rather admirable and superior, conversely very LOW ratings from leftist/Democrat rating groups), from a variety of Conservative Lobbying and Public Interest Groups regarding Senator Santorum? Did they all screw up? Are they out of whack? Or is your center of universe slightly off kilter? Just sayin'.
I think that is the first time I have heard (outside of from a communist or two here or there) that there is "not a dimes worth of difference between Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum". Wow.

Great another election where the actual conservatives are ignored. Good luck with Ford Bush Dole McCain Romney/Santorum. I really didn't think we could lose this election, boy was I wrong.

Gingrich is the only conservative in this race That is absurd. Gingrich has a 90% lifetime ACU rating while Santorum has an 88% lifetime rating. Both have flaws but both are conservative. But, only Santorum has a chance to beat Romney.
