Good! We voted today in Mississippi for Santorum, and we saw that all the “conventional wisdom” held that Romney won. It ain’t over till it’s over.

I’m a Newt supporter, but if this pans out, I really think Newt ought to put his support behind Santorum and we supporters can hope/expect Newt to get a good cabinet position to effect change once elected.

Newt looks like an dolt standing next to his wife while she talks. No WAY can he win no matter what! He should endorse Santorum.

As much as I like Newt, it is time for him to drop out and support Santorum. If he cannot dominate in the South, where can he win.

But I'm supposed to run against Romney.

Winning the two states adjacent to Georgia isn’t kicking butt, it’s a frontal shot kicking stones!
GO SANTORUM!!

Conventional wisdom had Rick showing up 2nd or 3rd tonight. Not anything like this. The DC Beltway types are very unhappy tonight.

Newt REALLY needs to pick party over ego. He’s not polling well in any state thats left. I am sure he feels he can win a brokered convention, and the chance of that is unlikely. Very unlikely as the GOP supports Mittens, and writes the rules. Newt knows this...
Mittens will not beat history, moderate progressive republicans do not win in the general, McCain, Dole, Bush 1, Ford...Thats almost 40 years of history.

Congrats Rick.
Looks like the two races wasn’t quite close enough for ROVE, Boss Hogg and the GOPe to steal, like they did in Ohio.
It also appears that Newt’s Southern Strategy has failed.
Even though he had tons of money from that Casino Owner.

Rick way up, Romney way down on Intrade today.
:D
Could be the beginning of an upset.

Congratulations to Rick Santorum.
I still want Newt to stay in to the convention. I think that he should stay in until someone has 1144 committed delegates and I don’t think anyone will before the convention. It ain’t over ‘til it’s over.

I think it can now be said that Santorum's more vocal critics on this board, some of whom have allowed their festering dislike for the man to warp their sense of reality, will be providing aid and comfort to the other side if they continue with their ridiculous vendetta.
Santorum is apparently the only alternative to Romney.
