I mean in the end I certainly don’t give a crap if they stay home in their basements chanting Newt, Newt, Newt why have you forsaken us?

What utter nonsense!

Dearest true believer forever, Please, ignore Charles. You’ll be a lot happier. He’s a major buttinski who all too often acts like a troll.

I plan to. Only I hate to give up on people until I have really really tried. The nuns taught me well. Guess what? with charles, I really really tried. He is now officially on my ignore list.

Are you feeling okay about Newt? I know you try to cheer everyone up, but are you okay, too?

In 2008 Romney dropped out 2 days after Super Tuesday (Feb 7)

The Hawaii caucuses were Jan 25-Feb 5 It was the state GOP convention with 600 Republicans attending..

McCain won got all 19 delegates, Huckabee was 2nd, Romney 3rd neither got any delegates..

American Samoa was not until Feb 23 after Romney dropped out

again it was a caucus and a county/state convention About 50 Republicans attended

McCain won with 62% got 9 delegates Huckabee got 38% no delegates Ron Paul got a couple of votes..

Yes, thank you very much for asking. I’m a-okay about Newt!

I’m silly happy that Romney suffered two defeats in my beloved, adopted South!

I’m concerned about Newt’s ability to raise money from here on out but I’m going to try to donate a little more and see if I can pressure some others I know who like him to do likewise, particularly my family in CA.

I’m going to call this one a night.

Prayers for you and everyone here!

Good night y’all.

God speed, Newt Gingrich!

Rick Santorum is really good on the foreign issues. It is one of the things I do like about him.

....."What is most difficult to contend with is that it is hardly Newt’s “message” posing the problem, but rather the power and the inestimable millions out together by his enemies and mine that formed a kill machine against him,...... and then watching Rickster reap the benefit of that kill machine, by accident,..... all while attracting no fire because he is no threat to anyone or anything.

Santorum actually thinks his victories were won on his own steam, on his superior message, (borrowed from everyone all along the way, Perry, Newt and even Romney himself) when in truth Rick has always served as stooge to the GOP-E.

He was the beneficiary of the assault on Newt that went totally nuclear, leaving RS a cleared field state after state, as the only anti-Romney left standing outside of Uncle Nutty.

Those FACTS, of the accidental candidate, will take some time to digest. Yes, the rancid taste of his quite ill gotten gains will take some time to swallow."

Excellent Post...You nailed it perfectly Rita.

I watched a forum of media pundits the other day who all stated basically what you wrote....that Santoru has basically riden a wave he didn't create....and yet he somehow thinks it's about who he is....but then that is Ricks huge ego showing...he could think no other way.

So... to all that stuff you said... what’s the answer? Will it all eventually catch up with Santorum if we just keep getting info out there about him? what’s the answer? This is my first campaign, I don’t know the tide and trend of how things work...

Sounds like HI is establishment territory then. Expect a big Romney win. Santorum gained 9 delegates on Romney according to RCP in AL and MS. If Romney gets 20 out of the 29 from HI and Samao, then he ties Rick for the day.

PR is winner-take-all, so I think Rick’s making a mistake going there. He should be focussing on IL which is only 2 days later or even MO the day before PR.

I have no idea of how PR is predicted to go, although they do have a GOP Governor who’s supposed to be conservative by their standards. But Rick going there may win him some needed Hispanic votes in TX, NM and CA down the road. Besides the guy’s earned a working vacation. Plus he sent his eldest daughter to HA so he can be fair to the middle girl and the boys by dragging them along to PR.

I’m not sure there is answer apart from getting the info out there. Did you read Ritaok’s fantastic explanation of Rick has taken the lead, but not because of who he is....it’s worth the look on this thread.

Politics have been said to be nasty, and frankly they are evil IMO in this day and age. So much corruption and cheating on all levels.....we can only do our part and trust God will manuver our guy thru it to the top.

I do think whoever we get it will be Gods answer to us....and it may not be favorable to our nation, or to the election with Obama. I’m not so sure this nation has turned toward him as needs to....only he knows if enough have done so and gives this nation another chance....it may just be too late and why Obama got in in the first place.

I want this to go to convention for the final battle and I do think they are gearing up for that as this race seems to indicate it will.. Generally though, the candidates do some barterring before it reaches convention and decide which one of them is going to drop out and who will carry the ball as the Primary winner.... so they can avoid a convention....But this race is historical and also unusual so there’s no telling how it will go....

What I do know is Rick SAntorum is one of the most stubborn , self-righteous politicians out there....and his ego and temper are high on the scale regardless of how he’s presenting himself.....I’m convinced if they attempt to get him to drop out they will have to offer him substantial compensation....his ego will demand that if his ego will even considering doing so.

Ricks from my state and he’s already been lying in as simple things as where he was raised....He was not raised in Pittsburgh as is so often stated....he was raised in a fleabitten community full of drugs and crime and a mindset that leaves much to be desired. I can see that in Rick.. because the place is not far from me and am familar with both the people and the town. Nasty place. He said he was raised in a coaltown....that’s a lie...Butler was once an industrial community and no sign of coal mines.

yeah, I went and found it. She called him the Accidental Candidate, and said it will take awhile for that to emerge and for people to see and understand that... I agree with that and it is really illuminating.

All the things you said about Santorum, I agree with. But I also know this, all along, Newt has been controlling the debate. He started saying awhile ago that it could go all the way to the convention, that was considered unthinkable when he said it, and now they are talking about it as a real possibility.

He has got Obama on the run over gas prices, but why why why is he so low in the polls? And what can be done about it?

What I do know is Rick SAntorum is one of the most stubborn , self-righteous politicians out there....and his ego and temper are high on the scale regardless of how he’s presenting himself.....I’m convinced if they attempt to get him to drop out they will have to offer him substantial compensation....his ego will demand that if his ego will even considering doing so. I too am worried about Santorum's ego and his selfrighteousness, and he is getting much of his support from the evangelicals. Don't laugh, but I really think Newt has a servant's heart.
