The Detroit Police Department unveiled a new 9-1-1 policy recently, and its got some people worried. Why? Because unless there seems to be an imminent threat, callers will get transferred to a crime reporting unit.
This is how it works, WJBK-TV explains. If youve been held up and the gunman is long gone, or youve been assaulted but not too badly, or your home has been broken into, thats not 911 anymore. Theyll transfer you or you can call the Telephone Crime Reporting Unit yourself at 313-267-4600.

Detroit: Poster city of the Left and Unions!
and to think that in french, the name detroit meant something like “to the right.” i dunno how you would say “to the wrong.”
It's just a flesh wound, please hold. bzzzzzz
That is.. if you're only bleeding from one ear and only one limb is broken...
Or as Whoopi Goldberg says, "if it's not Rape-rape."
Of course we all understand, Detroit is the result of our current nationwide trajectory....
911 is a joke.
It’s not satire - this really is their policy. I find that sad. They should go with constitutional carry to control crime, but most of their voters are sympathetic to the criminals, not to the victims. It’s sad when a formerly great city dies by suicide.

Dial 9-1-1 for clean-up!
Roger Gresse, an elderly man, from Zanesville, OH, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed. Roger opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.
He phoned the police, who asked, "Is someone in your house?" He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me."
Then the police dispatcher said. "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."
Roger said, "Okay."
He hung up the phone and counted to 30.
Then he phoned the police again.
"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them," and he hung up.
Within five minutes, six police cars, a SWAT team, a helicopter, two fire trucks, a paramedic, and an ambulance showed up at the Gresse residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the policemen said to Roger, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"
Roger said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"
There was a thread a couple weeks ago about gang violence in Detroit. After a little girl was killed by gangs shooting up a house, the few older men (REAL men) started patrols and were taking matters into their own hands seeing as how the cops have pretty much abandoned their neighborhoods.
Latter on in the thread was a link to an article about two bodies found in an alley killed and burned. Probably just a coincidence.
Help! Someones been murdered!
Well they are already dead so there is no emergency. This is a recording...Good Bye.
One way or another this should speed up the departure of the few remaining residents.
Then the politicians can scam all the federal subsidies to Detroit instead of having to actually spend some small part of it on its intended use.
Not even a pretense of an investigation. I doubt they are even scoring these for UCR, or hoping that the complainant will see the futility and hang up. It’s called ‘going down with crime’.
Think about that next time someone starts spouting about crime stats going down. Really? Or are the police just not taking the crime reports in the first place? This is why there is a wide disparity between the NCVS and UCR, and why both measures are largely worthless in your broken down cities.
sounds like Peggy from Capital One has a new gig...

Yes, UCR (Uniform Crime Reporting) should be URCR (Uniform Reported Crime Reporting).
You have to do it right.
“Yes there is someone breaking in my house”
“Sorry sir. All units are busy”
“But it’s a white Republican and he called me the N word”
“Units are responding now”
I am surprised that there is anything left in Detroit to steal.
A shinning example of decades of democrat and minority rule. FAILED!
