Colorado, is the result of what happened in Florida. The momentum changed, due to the thorough job of trashing Newt in front of the whole nation.

You can think that Dobson has that much stroke if you like, but because you think it, does not make it so. The holy roller vote in America, is now under 10%, which is down about 5% from past years. America is going down the path of secular hedonism. It's a fact supported by actual statistics.

I dislike pelosi immensely. However, that couch thing didn’t bother me in the least. You know, we send these clowns to DC to get things done on our behalf. It doesn’t hurt once in a while to see some comraderie. Newt was not a representative at the time. If he had been he would not have done the commercial. It certainly wasn’t the big deal people want to make of it.

Your visceral hatred of Mitt apparently prevents you from processing the very narrow point I was making.

How did I not address your point? I implied that anyone who supported Romney is 2008 or who is supporting him now has not done their homework. His record clearly shows that Mitt Romney is a Nelson Rockefeller, John Lindsay, John Anderson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Olympia Snowe type Republican. In other words, this apple didn't fall far from the family tree - both of his parents were proud members of the progressive wing of the GOP.

And FTR, both Bushes governed to the left of Clinton in many ways, thanks to the particular Speaker of the House Bill Clinton had to deal with. AHEM.

Yet both Bushes' pre-Presidential records were far to the right of Romney's.

I give Newt high marks for forcing Clinton's hand. In an ironic way, Newt probably assured Clinton's re-election. Clinton was smart enough to see how the wind was blowing and latched on to Newt's Contract with America, added his "improvement" and then claimed the success as his own. I think that we all know that if it had been necessary for his political survival, Clinton would have fought Newt all the way.

BTW where was Mitt on the Contract with America? In his own words, he opposed it.

Why discuss it unless the idea is to sway others?

It wasn't the Alabama Gov who started the discussing. Can you guess who? ...It was a CONg Wicky backer and of course it was Rickky:

"A Republican congressman said on the "Rick and Bubba" radio show Tuesday morning that Bentley had voted for Santorum.

Santorum's campaign quickly posted the news on Twitter, along with a photo of Santorum and the governor. It then sent out a statement detailing the governor's vote.

But Bentley's office responded with a statement saying his vote was not an official endorsement. "

Don’t get me wrong-—Romney did a great job nearly destroying Newt. My point re: Dobson is that in Colorado, his endorsement galvanized the religious right vote in a state that was supposed to be such an easy win for Romney that I can’t recall him even putting a lot of resources in there. That win made Santorum a viable alternative to Romney to a lot of voters who see the millions of dollars of ads against Newt and think to themselves, “Maybe I shouldn’t take a chance with Newt. I’ll go with the guy that Dr. Dobson and everyone in my church likes.”

Very low turnout at my polling place. Interestingly, very few blacks were voting in the Democrat primary. Most were voting in the Republican primary. What are the statiscal odds of that I wonder? I wonder how many were voting for the white and delightsome Bishop Willard?

This sentence should have read:

I think that we all know that if it had NOT been necessary for his political survival, Clinton would have fought Newt all the way.

Either way, I think that it communicates the idea that Bill Clinton was a total political opportunist.

“Newt really has very little “baggage” measured against others in the race and he has admitted being on film with Pelosi was “the stupidist thing I’ve done.” I believe him.”

For the Xian Pharisees it is all about The Divorce. I suppose they regard Jimmy Carter as the superior President compared to divorced Ronald Reagan.

Yes, that is 97% to 99% of the reason. I allow 1 to 3% for other reasons as in piling on.

Yes, but WHY is the biggest question.

My brother and his wife were Santorum supporters. Why? Because the are Christians, and the extremely pious types.

BUT, they knew I was for NEWT, for one purpose only. HE IS THE SMARTEST CANDIDATE RUNNING, and the only one that lead us out of this mess NOW.

My brother & wife, finally changed their minds, and are now in NEWTs corner. BECAUSE NEWT IS THE SMARTEST CANDIDATE RUNNING. They prayed over this decision and the Lord raised up NEWT.

Kinda gets me though that, they did not think of this sooner, as then they could have influenced many of their Church members, who look up to them. DUH??? yep.

Let's face it, no President can change the moral decay of America. They will have an influence of sorts, but they will not, can not change the depravity of so many people, 99% are the perfect example of who a President CAN NOT CHANGE.

WE need a President who can change the economy, energy, get rid of unnecessary Fed. Depts, and Judges, and most of all will know what to do in an International Emergency or threat of WAR. That President is NEWT Gingrich.

Okla.

There once was an Old Lady
who lived in a shoe
She had so many kids
Her uterus fell out....OH!

You are a prime example of the kind of mindless voter who is responsible for the mess we find ourselves in today.

Follow the Lemming in front of you, do what they tell you, or do themselves. Assume the candidate is what you only think or hear he is, without doing actual research for yourself.

That takes too much effort and especially, if you happen to find facts about that candidate that contradict what you hear about them. Ignore it or refuse to believe it. And after all, everybody in your church likes him above all.

Excuse me? Simply because I believed an endorsement had more influence that you think it had, I am a “mindless lemming?” I am a Newt supporter. I was merely expressing my opinion on what caused the Santorum rise. I am sorry I disagreed with you. I’ll be sure not to let it happen again.

You are still missing the point. So let’s shut this down by saying this.

Commerce Comet hates Mitt more than CEW does. Whoopee doo.

CEW will vote for Mitt exactly the same amount of times Commerce Comet will: 0.

Commerce Comet, for purposes of this argument, wants to over look the awful sins against conservatism made by Huckabee in ARKANSAS and by McCain in ARIZONA and pretend that the 08 campaign was something different from what it was and that what state you are from does not matter.

Go ahead and pretend and enjoy your delusion if you must. I will not join you in that race for the bottom.

As opposed to the Romney/Paul allegiance, where I suspect that if Paul dropped out, that Paul's followers would not choose big government Romney as their first choice.

Romney would be their next choice. They're driven more by their hate than of anything positive. And they hate "neocons" and "family values" conservatives more than anything else. Being as pro-Israel as Newt is a non-starter.
