ATF Death Watch 139: It’s a Campaign Issue(AZ)
The Truth About Guns ^ | 9 March, 2012 | Dan Zimmerman

Posted on 03/11/2012 7:25:39 AM PDT by marktwain

The following is the text of a campaign radio spot running on Phoenix area radio stations for Ben Quayle, (former VP Dan’s son) who’s locked in a primary battle with fellow Republican David Schweikert for the Republican nomination to an Arizona congressional seat:

I’m Congressman Ben Quayle. Washington has treated Arizona with contempt. Instead of securing our borders President Obama has sued our state and made a mockery of our laws . . .

Deadly drug cartels terrorize Mexico and menace our communities. And the Obama Justice Department gives us “Fast and Furious,” an outrageous scheme to sell thousands of guns to ruthless criminals. Those guns and criminals killed border agent Brian Terry. And the Obama administration accepts zero accountability for this disaster.

Attorney General Holder is stonewalling the Congress, hiding the facts and hanging subordinates in the wind. Arizona’s largest trading partner is in crisis. And that crisis is on our doorstep.

Washington’s response? Send thousands of guns to vicious killers and lie about it when the scandal breaks. The attorney general has been playing fast and loose with Fast and Furious. He must tell the truth and then resign his post. And those responsible should be prosecuted. And the President owes Arizona his loyalty and service – not his contempt.

I’m Ben Quayle, candidate for Congress, and I approved this message.

Here is my take on an out of control ATF, which is only one aspect of Obama/Holder’s Gangster Govt.

“Gangster Government, and Sakharov’s Immunity”

Matthew Bracken, February 29, 2012

http://www.enemiesforeignanddomestic.com/efadGG.htm

For over a year now, the Department of Justice has been stone-walling the House committees investigating Operation Fast And Furious, wherein thousands of semi-automatic rifles (”assault rifles” in the liberal lexicon) were deliberately allowed to “walk” into Mexico, straight into the hands of drug cartel killers. One of those weapons was used to murder Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry a dozen miles inside of U.S. territory.

The actual killer is believed to be an FBI “informant.” In other words, a cartel assassin in his own right, but also a valuable “asset” in the FBI’s consideration. The FBI and DOJ have been shielding this killer, while obstructing the delivery of justice to the Brian Terry family. On the other side of the border, ICE Agent Jaime Zapata was also murdered with a “gun-walked” weapon, along with over three-hundred innocent Mexican citizens as of this date.

And where is the elite Mainstream Media in its coverage of this festering scandal of such epic proportions? Over the past year they have dedicated scant minutes to the scandal, and then, usually to parrot the Obama administration’s lies and obfuscations. Just during one recent week, the elite media spent countless hours covering the death and funeral of a beloved celebrity drug addict, compared to the few minutes they have spent covering Operation Fast And Furious during all of the last year.

Under Operation Fast And Furious, and related DOJ-ATF gun-walking schemes in at least five states, there was no plan or means to track the weapons after their sale. Licensed gun dealers were coerced by the BATFE into making repeated bulk sales, even when they expressed grave concern about the persons buying the weapons, including known felons. Federal cash was provided to the straw purchasers when they did not have their own money.

As conceived and carried out, the intended purpose of Operation Fast and Furious was to rack up a bloody body count in Mexico, in order to discredit the Right to Keep and Bear Arms as spelled out in the Second Amendment of the Constitution. The murdered Mexicans were intended to buttress the false claim that ninety percent of the weapons recovered in Mexico after gangland shootings came from American gun dealers.

In short, the Obama administration conducted a program of mass murder for political purposes. Or, as President Obama put it to Sarah Brady, he was still pursuing a gun control agenda, but “under the radar.” It is hard to conceive of a federal “law enforcement operation” [sic] more evil from top to bottom than Operation Fast And Furious.

I sent a cousin an email yesterday about your books. I knew he has a Kindle, but I didn’t know he was into the genre until I saw a FB post of his. I also linked your blog and this essay...

Why is the ATF spiking this story?

Certainly, the facts of the matter are evident. Let's get everything on the table.

Agreed. I believe the only way this will get to everyone is when the politicians use it in ads when running for office. This Qualye guy seems to have some guts. If the Repubs can end this Primary soon, the winners should be on this like stink on sh*t. I think Newt would go for it but he will not win the nom. Is Santorum ready? I hope so but am not sure. rommney will ignore this subject at his own peril. Perhaps a Santorum ticket with Newt as VP? Even Christie would be a vocal VP on this subject. He is no punk. I hope they all start bashing Obama(& his policies) ASAP.

I think this is all intertwined with Arizona, as well. sheriff Joe, Brewer and John Mcain are all players here. I trust Joe. Brewer talks a good game but folds when slightly pushed. McCain is basically worthless. He wouldn’t even stand up for himself over the Birther issues. We need Qualye and others to make something happen. They are the people being sued by Holder yet they are silent on Fast & Furious? Doesn’t make sense. This should be on every billboard in Arizona.

Until several Republican congressman stand at the steps of the White House or in front of one of the MSM headquarters holding a protest about such issues, nothing will get done. Exposure to the sheeple is the only way, ie. Donald Trumps constant harping on Obama’s birth certificate.

My opinion of Arpaio, Brewer and McCain is similar to yours. Where we differ is in how the situation is going to be resolved. Quayle might turn out to be a decent man to send to D.C. but once there he will, in all probability, change. It seems to happen to all of them and I’d be surprised if he were any different. Still, it’s worth a try before we have to take “more direct action.”

Here on FR and other conservative forums, it’s easy to believe we can somehow forge ahead and change enough minds to elect people who will steer our ship of state away from the rocks. Here we’re surrounded by people of like minds but stand on any street corner and watch those who walk by and you’ll see the 60% or so that is completely or partially dependent on federal subsidies to maintain their standard of living. If we are to effect real change we’ll have to disenfranchise most of them and they vote too.

There have been a lot of figures tossed around about how many people actually participated in our own revolutionary war. I think it’s safe to say that about 1/3 of the population was in favor of maintaining British rule, another 1/3 was willing to work with whatever government was in power and the final 1/3 was ready to throw off the monarchy. Of that final group, only about 10% actively fought in the war - and then not all the time. This works out to about 3% of the total population, a figure that several others have touted - it may be close to right.

Anyway, it was that 3% that changed the lives of the other 97%. That’s about normal. In most wars, the actual army is a small percentage of the population yet it effects the change.

It will be so again. Elections are neccesary now, if for no other reason than to prove to the people just how ineffectual they are. Every election is riddled with corruption and fraud and it’s getting worse. In time we will see fewer and fewer ballots cast as the elctorate loses confidence in the system. Eventually, as always, bullets will be substituted for ballots. I will be gone by then but my children and grandchildren will have to experience all that horror and heartache. Yours too.

There was a time in the early 1930’s, when someone with foresight could have changed the world and steered it away from global conflict with a well-aimed rifle shot. Had Someone killed Hitler in 1932 things might have turned out differently. I believe we are past that time in this iteration of world affairs. There are simply too many villains to dispose of and too few people with the foresight and the ability do the job. We’re screwed.

Good luck to you and yours.

Any idea what is going on with Issa? Haven’t heard anything in about a month. Is he giving Holder a free pass?

There was some talk awhile back about Boehner leaning on him to tone things down. Considering how things are done in D.C. it wouldn’t surprise me if that were the case. We can hope that they’re holding back in order to hit ‘em again just before election - but I wouldn’t bet on it. It’s also barely possible that Issa is giving Holder a bit more rope so he can hang himself and maybe even his boss. Again, I wouldn’t bet on it.

Let’s face it, Fast and Furious only cost a couple of American lives - and a few hundred Mexicans, but what’s that compared to a career in government? Let’s face it, the only way this sort of thing is ever going to be straightened out is by using tactics exemplified by John Ross. And that ain’t gonna happen.

Think of America as a large shining city. For some reason it becomes totally uninhabited. Every evening the lights go on automatically. But each evening a few more fail to come on. Eventually there are no lights left to show where the once-shining city stood. Now equate each of those lights to a right we once enjoyed and you’ll see where we’re going.

If I didn’t feel so guilty about bringing children into this world I’d be more happy than not to simply die now.
