There was an overflow crowd greeting Newt Gingrich when he arrived at the Wiregrass Museum of Art in the southeast corner of Alabama on Saturday.

Looking over the hundreds of people packed into the gallery area and spilling down the steps in the main lobby, Gingrich enthused, "What a crowd. I'm really impressed. There must be no one left at Wal-Mart this afternoon."

That's about as condescending as the line "why don't you go deep-fry something" from the movie Sweet Home Alabama...

You ain't too bright, are you?

Don't think Candace Bergen...think Jeff Foxworthy.

totally, mitt avoids the sunday shows like the plague. he’s in prevent defense. he only goes on kudlow, who has become a total squishy sponge.

At least this primary has forced out the squishy republicans. I’m making a list, starting with:

ann coulter
matt drudge
karl rove
britt hume
scott rasmussen
laura inghram
every one at the weekly standard
dick morris

Why? Levi’s are Levi’s. I live outside a VERY small town. I’m grateful I have a store like that to shop in.

We don’t have the luxury of finding ‘The Best’. We are running out of time to look for the ‘prefect’ candidate.’

I couldn’t disagree more. this is exactly what mitt and the boys want. Take a look at the drudge headline right now “shock poll: romney 48 obama 43. When you click on the link where does it take you? the answer is Rassmusen. Drudge and Rasmussen are total hacks for Romney.

Plus Rassmusen has been touting exit polls from super tuesday saying that the most important thing to voters is somebody who can beat obama. This crap is all orchestrated by mitt and the establishment.

Do not fall for it!!!

Migrating hippies from California. Actually, the majority of the state isn’t moonbatty. It’s mostly just Portland & Eugene. I’ve lived her almost my entire life and can’t imagine living anywhere else, though.

Considering he didn’t grow up well off, I say good for him! If he EARNED the means to have a $1,000,000 spree wherever the heck he wants to then isn’t that something to be respected and aspired to rather than jealously sneered at?

Nope, southern Pennsyltucky a.k.a. Pennsylvania.

Once described as "Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with Alabama in between".

I think you misunderstood me.

Since Late Feb some of us have known about the issue with Rick Santorum wife. I would not post the article I did not know all the Facts.

But we have heard over and over about Newt Marriage problems and how Santorum was a better Christan than Newt or even us and that he would restore the family values. It is time for Santorum to come down off that soap box he is not the only American that is Saved.

I thrust Newt to give 100% to do what he thinks is right for this Country and as for Santorum well he think politics is a team sport and sometime you have to take one for the team.

I don't trust Santorum at all.

true believer,

excellent video of newt destroying ricky.

There was another debate between just newt and cain. the exact thing happened. I mean exactly the same. If you’re good at finding videos please find this one of cain and newt and post them both together. It will show that newt is a man among boys.

excellent video of newt destroying ricky.

Yes, it is and it is only a minute long, and says it all.

It's like Newt didn't even engage his brain, and left ricky looking like the idiot he is. I have a few contacts in the campaign and I am trying to put together an effective little letter to why they should use it as a commercial... it is already just 1 min, and with the standing O they'd only need to say something like When what's inside really counts or something like that...

I will look for that Cain vid for you, but I don't think Newt did anything extraordinary, except for the fact he was incredibly gracious to cain. Oh, maybe you are talking about that part where cain got a question on medicare or medicaid, and thought for a few moments -went blank - and then handed it off to Newt. The audience started to groan... and Newt said, no that's fair, he went first on the last question... it was really cool.

“What a crowd. I am really impressed. There must be nobody left at Walmart this afternoon,” Gingrich said.

The crowd laughed and cheered at Gingrich’s expression — a phrase used by Southerners to say something big is happening in town. Gingrich "

"Me thinks you are projecting....only liberals or Yankees think all Wal-mart shoppers are dumb hicks"

True. All he has to say is, "I was shopping in WalMart the other day, and I met..." There. Fixed it.

Honestly, I really wouldn’t be very good at calls-or- I would do it. I’ve contributed monthly since December- and if I were closer to Ala, I would volunteer in person. For Sarah, in 2008, I started a small website- and will do the same if Newt gets the nomination.

The Romney attacks really hurt Newt- In Fla, I think he felt overwhelmed- he knew he didn’t have the resources to reply- and I think that sense of futility carried over into the debates-. I think his allusion to mouse to an elephant was telling.

I think the memo you reference is the only available course- do your best, and simply disregard the negativity and hope people have become inured to it.

Santorum is losing 55-34 to Romney- he’ll get wiped out in a flash, one on one. He should have backed off Al and Miss- and let Newt win. At least, that would slow Romney down- and that’s all Newt and Rick can play for— keep the ball in play, and hope Romney falters.

There’s no reason for Newt to drop— the effect would only be to give Rick a better bargaining position with Romney— which is probably the only reason santorum wants him out. I’m sure he knows he can’t- he just gets a better bargaining position to negotiate terms of surrender.

I would never vote for Rick— don’t respect how he wormed his support.

Incidentally, according to ABC, Newt’s comment on Walmart was a common expression in the South meaning “something big is happening in town”.

Finally, the guy who introduced Newt at the rally, said Newt was up 6 in both states-though he didn’t specify the polls.

or perhaps something like: when things are on the line who do people turn to? Newt

or

when that 3am phone call comes aren’t you glad they’re calling newt.

Those are two rether rediculous complaints.

What, just because Newt once cheated on two wives, no other candidate is allowed to say they have been married for 21 years?

And it’s almost disgusting to even THINK about the bizarre interpretation you had for “sitting on the couch with Nancy Pelosi”.

And it’s funny that you didn’t see the irony in complaining about “classless”, while missing the possible issue over the “empty walmart” comment. If a liberal had said that about a republican meeting, we’d all be castigating the liberal for their attacks on our fellow conservatives.
