Rasmussen Reports ^ | March 10, 2012 | Rasmussen Reports

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-four percent (44%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19 (see trends).

Looking at Tuesday's upcoming primaries, the GOP race in Alabama is essentially a three-way tie, while Mitt Romney leads by eight in Mississippi. Nationally, Romney now leads Rick Santorum by 12 points. Regardless of who they want to win, 80% of Republican Primary Voters nationwide believe Romney will be the party's nominee.

With the perception growing that he will be the GOP nominee, Romney leads President Obama by five points in a hypothetical 2012 matchup. Today's numbers show Romney at 48%, Obama at 43%. That’s Romney’s largest lead since December. Matchup results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update).

“These polls are really getting tiresome.”

Really. One thing that’s accurate about all polls is, they make money for the pollsters.

I understand that and I am voting for Newt in the primary. The news media shapes public opinion and the outcome of elections. Evil is difficult to conquer, especially at election time when competing with their dead, felons, illegal aliens and multi-voters.

I'd say that is a good description of myself really.

Not the least bit happy with voting for Mitt but Obama is so damned dangerous and this country will be ruined if he is given four more years. The gloves would come off and the man would be out of control.

Wonder who Mitt would ask to be on the VP slot. He might actually pick an actual Conservative!

I was referring to a poll earlier in the week Rasmussen did. I don’t see it listed on his cite any longer.

Newt could be President of FR...perhaps...but never POTUS!

and I doubt if you could qualify for either position.

Notice Gingrich loses badly to Obama.

A poll tells you that! LOL!! See why they use propaganda - it works on you!!

Media knows a sucker is born every minute so they use it to the hilt!!

NEWT is the ONLY ONE who CAN and WILL whip the skinny butt of Barry.

For starters...
Hey Barry, why have you increased the debt when NEWT reduced it FOUR TIMES?

Name one candidate that can even come close to that. NEWTIES ARE AWAKE! You are dreaming.

I’m not a big fan of the concept of feminist any more than I would be of a masculinist. I’m not even sure what word you would use to proclaim yourself a supporter of Mens’ rights.

It’s sort of like misogynist. There is no word for hating men.

I support human rights, the kind of rights each human should receive in their normal daily relations with other human beings.

Sure I want women treated well. I want men treated well too.

Feminist? Nah, that goes against the grain to me.

I do agree with your premise that Palin loves men and Allred hates them. Palin is a lover of people. I’m not convinced a shrew (IMO) like Allred truly loves anyone other than herself. IMO, you can’t love people as a general rule, and treat some of them like she does.

I don’t see any humanity expressed by this woman.

Interesting distinction.

Indeed.

Perhaps moreso even, than would initially appear.

Emotions are coming from the Rick side - they are dreamers about a candidate wet behind the ears and a GOP E ‘take one for the team’ candidate.

NEWT is THE PATRIOT, Knowledgeable and EXPERIENCED. It’s not even a contest - except for voters who run on emotions and not facts!

Gingrich almost was invisible in the last 2 debates,

No, Newt won hands down in the last debate. Newt can win. He can out debate Obama even in a comatose state. Here's a poll from the not so distant past of Newt beating Obama.

National Poll: Gingrich 45% Obama 43%

These General Election polls months before the election have little meaning. However, I'll say this much, they continue to show Obama is vulnerable to even a ham sandwich that can beat him, but he will cover his vulnerability with a super sludge campaign by throwing mud and crap at his opponent.

Not a huge surprise to be honest.

Obama’s likeability factor is pretty low - he’s a smug a-hole after all - any competent candidate could beat him.

It’s not like Romney is going to lose the southern states because he’s not Ronald Reagan either.

I will pass on the liberal activist with a work ethic. We are better off with the liberal activist who is always on vacation.

Good point. They sway sheeple opinion and make money for Rasmussen. He’s doing a real valuable service—for himself.

That’s the first poll I’ve seen for a long time showing Gingrich with any kind of lead against Obama. It must be going back a while. I just think Gingrich’s performance in the primaries has been very uneven to say the least, and even his debate performances. His Georgia speech the other night was an unmitigated disaster. I don’t trust he’s prepared for a run against Obama at all. Santorum is the one despite a few mistakes putting in the most steady-Eddy performance of the candidates. And several polls show he can and does beat Obama.

Winning the state becomes very important after March, because I believe that is when the winner-takes-all kicks in.

Santorum should drop out and endorse Newt. He is the best conservative in the race... and Newt has more delegates.
I agree.

Got that right! Every time the Commie in Chief shows up on TV, I grit my teeth, glare at the screen and wish a painful and disgusting plague upon him.
