After ripping on Rush Limbaugh, Axelrod planning appearance on Bill Maher’s show

The “war on women” messaging is getting highly nuanced indeed, my friends.

"David Axelrod, President Obama’s senior campaign strategist, is scheduled to appear on Bill Maher’s late-night talk show within the next few weeks, according to Kelley Carville, an HBO spokesman."

"As the controversy over Rush Limbaugh’s comments about Sandra Fluke continued, a former Obama White House official today joined Republicans in pointing out that Maher, who recently donated $1 million to a pro-Obama super PAC, has a history of his misogynistic slurs…"

Is Kelley Carville related to the “snakehead”?

I say, let the weasel Axelrod appear on Maher's show. Some smart, creative, conservative with media skills will compile a video of Axelrod's appearance mixed in between all Maher's name calling of Palin, Bachmann, and other Conservative women. At the end of that clip, will be Obama's arm around Axelrod after the 2008 election.

That video will send a POWERFUL message to the "independent women" that Obama thought he won over.

Bank on that.

David Axelrod has demonstrated an uncanny ability to track down just anyone's indiscretions or offensive behaviors.

He finds things that aren't humanly possible to find.

And you might wonder what his connection to Satan really is!

"He knows with whom you've been sleeping; he knows when you eat steak; he' knows who's been bad or good,....." so give it up ~ dude's under your bed.

In a country where the Democrats win elections by selling women "dependency", there are no "independent" women!

We really can't organize our campaigns around this business of going for independents, particularly since they are, at best, fringe voters, or for moderates, who simply do not exist.

The campaign must focus on getting real Republicans as well as Conservatives to vote for our candidate, and on attracting a specific Democrat faction with a policy that grabs their attention.

I propose we go after the YOUTHVOTE ~ the 19 to 34 year olds who are unemployed or marginally employed, who have no credit ratings, or who have enormous education debt they can't repay because there are no good paying jobs to get no matter how well trained you are.

Obama has been beating them down for four years, and now he's sticking $8.00 per gasoline to them.

If you can't get that youth vote, you probably shouldn't be running. The guy from Bain who made his bucks consolidating businesses, and reducing labor costs probably isn't going to pull these folks in ~ particularly no by ridiculing $2.00 per gallon.

I bet he gets a mock ‘apology’ out of Maher so they don’t have to return his $1M.

I see a recurring theme in all of this, and I find it a little bit disturbing. We act as if there is a uniform code of behavior, and all of the citizens of this country including the politicians and members of the mainstream media all subscribe to it.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Not only is there not a uniform code, the people who are screaming loudest about violations of the civility code (whatever that is) are not only the worst offenders themselves, but fully know and understand that.

For example, there appears to be a rule civility that says you do not call a woman a “slut”. We may adhere to this, and that’s fine. I’m all for it.

But we have to understand that same time that the people making the biggest stink about this are laughing their asses off.

Almost any conservative that I know has seen the famous video clip of Bill Clinton at Ron Brown’s funeral, laughing and joking, then looking up and realizing they are being filmed, suddenly become very somber and straight faced.

We shouldn’t kid ourselves, and neither should we cut our own throats by refusing to recognize it, that liberals practice the same behavior when it comes to this kind of “uncivilized” discourse.

They recognize our weakness in this respect, which for the most part is our honesty, standards that we attempt to adhere to, and desire for consistency.

Most people that I can sort with look at those metrics, and would fully embrace them as positive things. And they are.

But we must also recognize that liberals do not view those in that fashion.

To them, their honesty is different from our honesty. Our honesty on the face of it, is what we think it is. Their honestly is conditional, changeable, and adjustable.

To them, their standards are very different from our standards. Actually, liberals have no standards, because if you have standards and you fail to meet them, that does not mean that you are a fallible human being, it means you’re a hypocrite. To liberals, there is no worse cardinal sin than hypocrisy. So they have no standards. (This is actually, for them at least, the most humorous part. They fully recognize this, and seem to take great jollity in recognizing this and then putting their face in front of a camera and admonishing others for not living up to their standards. This is by design, because fundamentally all committed liberals are devotees of Saul Alinsky at heart, and rule number 4 is one of the most important for them: “Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity”)

To them, consistency means only one thing: a consistent desire to achieve a goal regardless of the means. And that is it. End of story. All committed liberals understand and believe that the ends justifies the means.

And that is what makes them so evil. If we forget these basic differences, and think for even a single second that they somehow share these values with us, we are slitting our own throats with knives they hand us, as they laugh in the background at our stupidity.

It doesn’t mean that we have to sink to their level, and as someone who hasn’t listened to the entire context of what Rush Limbaugh said yet, I’m not ready to admit that is what happened. But I will say that leaving your back exposed in an environment full of knives waiting to be plunged into it is not a good idea, to say the least. Rush Limbaugh has been doing this long time, and I expect that he does regret having left his back exposed.

But that does not in any way invalidate what I said above. We don’t play by the same rules, and we had better recognize that, for the good of ourselves and our country.

Only if they're smart enough to listen. There's a reason they've been called the STUPID PARTY for so many years. (sigh...)

I totally agree with to perspective of rlmorel’s comment. I think too often conservatives expect liberals to play by the same rules and are shocked when they don’t. Reflect on how many times do we see the analogy of “Lucy moving the football on Charlie Brown” placed in comments on FR.

We need to develop political, media, economic, and communication strategies to combat the true nature of the liberals, not what we think they should be.

The main point I was trying to make is that we need to be aware that civility in discourse is a one-way ratchet for leftists.

We don’t have to engage in it, but neither do we have to shy away from it. My feeling is that it is an individual choice, and that we need to keep our head squarely on our shoulders when we engage in discourse.

I know that I get angry when I see this perceived double standard, and to us, it is indeed a double standard. But to them, we must remember that it is not, and they are going to view our indignation and outrage at the recognition of it as such very dismissively.

I just finished Andrew Breitbart’s last book, and in it he seemed to be encouraging us to embrace the tactics of Saul Alinsky. Having taken the time (and painful time it was) to read “Rules for Radicals”, I can’t bring myself to embrace the tactics, even in defense of what I know is good and right.

I fully understand that makes me weak in this respect, but I feel that is something that everybody has to come to in their own way, and I simply haven’t found a way to do that yet.

Thank you… I think this very issue is a key one for us. A lot of the issues boil down this way, and we need to find a way to be heard and understood.

Personally, I do think this woman is a leftist “slut”, and she should be aggressively countered. The fact that I can’t do it myself I think has more to do with my own history and upbringing (which I don’t view as being better, or superior… it’s just different than the way other people may have been brought up)

It’s the same reason I never use the “C” word, ever. I can’t, even when I think it fits.
