Teter and his boyfriend got into an argument in the early morning hours of Feb. 19, according to a St. Louis Police Department report. The police interview with the boyfriend was conducted in an emergency room at St. Louis University Hospital.

The boyfriend told police that Teter was upset with him for coming home at 2:30 a.m. The couple lived in Soulard, and that night was the neighborhood’s big Mardi Gras celebration. The report says the argument escalated when Teter called the boyfriend’s parents in Pennsylvania, and the boyfriend punched Teter in the stomach.

When Teter punched him back, the boyfriend threatened to call police, “which infuriated” Teter, according to the report. Teter then twice pushed his boyfriend’s face into a wooden kitchen cabinet. The boyfriend told police that he was taken to the hospital to have his injuries treated at about 6 a.m.

The report says the boyfriend had a “severe laceration” on his left eyebrow and a black-and-blue eye. It says he was cooperative about giving information “but was very hesitant on assisting with the prosecution of this incident.”
