Give me a break. Though all of those who pulled their advertising, do through numerous venues, I'm willing to bet that OVER 50% of their sales, comes from adversiting with Rush.
And as if the Libs are listening to Rush (or most of the other Conservative sites such as Shawn, Beck, etc.) and patronizing those sponsors?
This was nothing but an organized effort to silence Rush by having the "Progressives" call/write and threaten to pull their "business" which more than likely does not exist to begin with.
Hope that when some come crawling back (and they will) Rush either refuses or Hammers them by raising the rates to extreme levels.
I’m glad he’s no longer associated with Sleep Number beds. I think they are worthless overpriced junk. Everyone I know that had one said they leaked and were cheaply made. I hope he took his own SN bed and kicked it to the curb.
I told my wife the same thing Friday when she said something to me about this. I haven’t listened to Rush for awhile but I know he has a very professional long time staff that knows Rush inside out. Every call gets screened to fit the show’s theme. Rush always said, “the callers are there to make the host look good” or something like that.
To think that Rush would purposefully do something to hurt his bottom line is not possible. This is one of Rush’ teaching moments.
This is why having leftists as advertisers is a bad idea. Soros went after Goldline on the Beck show and Goldline stood their ground. Rush said he knew the political leanings of these companies when he brought them onboard but he put the quality of the product ahead of that.

Here’s a breakdown on ‘birth control’ costs:
Birth control pills at Walmart sell for $9 a month - for three years of law school that’s $324.
After three years of birth control pills are paid for - a law student is left with $2,676 to cover costs of condoms....
A box of LifeStyles Ultra Sensitive 40ct (40 count) Condoms at Walmart runs $11.46.
The $2,676 left AFTER buying birth control pills, she ( random law student) can buy 233 boxes of condoms (the 40 count boxes) - for a total of 9320 condoms over a three year stint at law school... or 3,106 condoms per year. Or about 8 1/2 condoms PER DAY.
The question is: what do we call a female law student who uses - on average - 60 condoms a week?

Because I adore El Rushbo, I’ve stayed off of all the threads about him since this eruption, because I didn’t want to contribute to any kind of pile-on or perceived disparagement of Rush.
As a woman, I cringed when Rush used the *s* word to describe Ms. Flake. It was a visceral reaction. He could have called her a *fornicator* and I wouldn’t blink. He could have called her *promiscuous* and it wouldn’t have phased me. Actually, when he called her a *prostitute*, that word didn’t disturb me at all.
It was the *s* word that did it. Yeah, I know, a lot of people will say “It’s just a word, it’s just 4 letters, what’s wrong with you, are you a brainwashed feminazi?” The answer would be no.
There are some words that are so offensive to particular races and ethnicities that generally “everyone” understands that you don’t use them...such as the *n* word. For me, and millions of American women, being called the *s* word, the t**t word, or the *c* word are similar to that. Yes, I know that some muddle-headed liberal women refer to each other by the *s* word. It makes no difference. See *n* word example for the same phenomenon, and refer to Dr Laura Schlessinger.
Yeah, I know, Bill Maher and his sicko buddies can use these words with impunity towards conservative women, like Governor Palin, and they have used them without consequence or penalty. That’s them, not us. I want our men to be better than that. Who will ever forget Zell Miller challenging Chris Matthews to a duel, just for the sin of being rude to Michelle Malkin? Not me, not ever. I was filled with such respect for Zell as a result of that single display of sincere gallantry!
I’m glad Rush apologized, and only apologized for the use of a single word, recognizing that it is offensive and that it’s the purview of the disgusting leftist pigs who call themselves men, but who are not. Leave it to those perverse freaks to publicly wallow in filth and fling poo at women who disagree with them.
Rush didn’t need my forgiveness for his lapse. There’s so much in his “good deeds and words” bank that he’s automatically pre-forgiven by me for many things. Still, I respect him even a little more for having the cojones to apologize, knowing that the left will go into an orgiastic feeding frenzy over this evidence of them having bloodied his nose.
It has been established on several of the Fluke threads that Fluke was not speaking of herself, but rather "people she knows" at Georgetown. In other words, she was using the lefty "sources tell us" approach so beloved of the Andrea Mitchells and George Steffie-whatevers of the world. Rush was therefore out of line to refer to Fluke as a slut. He should have concentrated on the fact that she is a plant and that she enrolled at G'Town specifically to challenge them on the birth control issue.
Rush will get along just fine without you (and several of his advertisers).
