For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.
I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit?In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone's bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.
My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.

For a man who claims to know liberals like “every square inch of [his] glorious naked body” he sure blew it here. Good grief, my skin crawled when I read his apology (read: cave).
I was just speaking with a friend at work about how great Rush’s take on this slut was. I was eagerly anticipating Mondays show. Not any more. I don’t think i have the stomach to listen to Rush try and tap dance his way around his CAVE!
All of you tut-tutting hens who want to sit around and cluck about how spineless is Rush ... I wonder how many of you will write to the CEO of the following former Rush sponsors and assure the managers of the respective companies that you will never buy one of their products again, including one whose products are popular this time of year, and that furthermore you will endeavor to convince your friends to cease buying their products, in perpetuity, to wit:
Quicken
Sleep Number
LegalZoom
Sleep Train (West Coast)
No doubt I’ll hear two sounds from the vast majority of the whiners: crickets and more clucking — but miracles have happened before. Just ask Jesus.

Sandra Is no Fluke
Amid all the terrible things Rush Limbaugh was saying about reproductive justice and impoverished law school students who have to shell out of pocket for their condoms I remembered that Sandra the Fluke was a former president of the Georgetown Law Center for Reproductive Justice. Perusing the web site of the parent organization ( lsrj.org) I was surprised to see that while they maybe fresh out of money for condoms they could still offer paid fellowships.
In was not a Fluke that Sandra was chosen by the Democrats to testify. She is not, as the Democrats would have us believe, a typical college or law school student. She is first of all a hypocrite and secondly she was probably the only spokesperson they could come up with who was only covertly connected to NARAL and Planned Parenthood. She deserves all the grief she gets.

He apologized for the word choices, but did not say that she was NOT a “slut.” He gave a dem apology ie “I’m sorry if I offended Ms. Fluke.” He’s sorry he didn’t use a better word, like maybe Ms. Twobit.

It’s a shame that the conservatives are compelled to make a
profit to get it’s word out but liberals are subsidized.
Since one of the founders of that company is Robert Shaprio, part of the O.J. Simpson legal defense "Dream Team", I've always avoided their service.
He had to know how this apology (read: cave) was going to come across. He showed weakness, and accepted the Dems premise by going on defense! He always condemns the Republicans in Congress for this!
The Left must be hysterical tonight...they know they have the power to even make Rush cave! This is sad and disgusting beyond what I'm capable of expressing.

This was betrayal.
I'm willing to see how this plays out and give him the benefit of the doubt.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the bomb threat at his home on Thursday?
If Rush truly did cave on this, I wonder what it took?
Something tells me it was more than just a few advertisers pulling out.

As another poster noted (paraphrasing): We can no longer condemn the advertisers who decided not to advertise on his show, since rush himself admitted he was wrong on what he said! Basically, El Rushbo’s apology (read: cave) confirmed that his sponsors were correct in leaving him, while at the same time making those who wrote letters of condemnation to these sponsors look like abject fools!

Remember the line of men's ties that Rush marketed about 15 years ago? I bought a couple because they were different not because I needed two more ties.
At that time our parish priest was a democrat. He and I could trade remarks about politics without getting into a shouting match. Rush's name came up a time or two.
Of course when Rush put his ties on the market I had to buy a couple because they were distinctive to say the least. I don't recall the year, but it was shortly before Christmas when I purchased them.
It came time to dress for midnight mass on Christmas Eve. There was no question about it I would wear one of Rush's ties. I picked the tie that carried the name Stained Glass, it was the more conservative of the two.
I walked in the door of the church with my overcoat open so the tie could be seen. Father spotted it and recognized it within the blink of eye. The look on his face....priceless !
Before Mass I had the chance to look around and what do I see? Four other men wearing Rush's ties. That added to the joy of that particular Christmas.
Father retired years ago, but I still wear Stained Glass by Rush to midnight mass on Christmas Eve without fail. It has become a tradition with me.
The moral of my story is that Rush created jobs when he came out of with his line of men's ties. Capitalists do that sort of thing quite well.
I would like to see Robert Shapiro in a commercial stating "To more accurately reflect our new business direction LegalZoom is now "LegalCrashandBurn".

El Rushbo accepted the Dems premise and caved. The Left now taste blood and will not stop.
This was a supremely stupid move by Rush! It had the following consequences:
1) Emboldened the Dems even more
2) Made the work of other talk radio hosts that much harder
3) Alienated a good portion of his listening audience.
It is laughable watching some here make excuses for Rush. Actually, it's downright sad.
She's bragging about her sin while at the same time trying to self-righteously demand that *we* pay for it.
The problem is, if anyone other than her should pay for her contraception, it would be whoever is banging her that night. WE aren't the ones who might get her pregnant.
In fact, one could argue that by paying for her contraception, we are gaining an easement.

Didn’t Maher call Sarah the “c” word? This gets more sickening, the more you think about it.
Say what you will about Beck. He started his own network to avoid this problem. That was an extremely gutsy move, made so he could freely pursue the truth.
I mean, it's not like *Rush* is about to get her pregnant.

Go to his audio archives and pull up the countless monologues where El Rushbo chastised Republicans for doing this very thing. Sounds like you don't listen to Rush regularly? If you did, you'd know what I'm saying is correct.

I most certainly agree with your spirited call to actual doing something. As proof of this, we have become aware of the snide little half men such as Maher. The thing is that the more they can get away with, the bolder they are.
An example so far is the courage of Mark Steyn. He is still standing. Once the tide of decent right thinking application of the First Amendment To The Constitution takes place, they will back off.

On what basis do you say that it's "the truth" that Ms. Fluke is a "slut"? She could be in a long-term relationship with one man and her monthly birth-control pill expenses would be the same as if she were promiscuous.

He did the right thing.
It takes guts and maturity to issue a public apology when one has crossed a line, which he did by using a term that is extremely offensive to any woman.
Rush went up in my estimation with this statement.
“Rush will get support from me because I won’t buy a damn thing from any sponsor who dropped him”
That would be the best thing to do.
“Well, the good thing is, the next time there’s an important issue to conservatives, we can rely on Rush to come out and....um.. apologize”

If you did your own research instead of counting on what Rush tells you you would know that Dems do not call Rush an entertainer, They call him the leader of the Republican party.
Now why don't you go back to the ' bubble' and listen to Rush's past skits lecturing on how to NEVER give in to pressure from the left, just like he just did now.
Not a slut. She just wants someone else to pay for her unmarried sex-capades.
Unfortunately, Rush has robbed us of the opportunity to FINALLY fight the left on their own terms.
Had he hung tough, and appealed to his audience to “balance the scales” we would have been able to communicate to his affiliates just how valuable we find their support in a polarized market and political enviroment that is ever more intrusive and wants to drive their costs ever upward.
