Numerous Tea Party chapters claim IRS attempts to sabotage nonprofit status

By Perry Chiaramonte

Published February 28, 2012 | FoxNews.com

Tea Party chapters around the nation are blasting the Internal Revenue Service after the federal agency sent them letters demanding information about their politics, contributors and even family members.

In letters sent from IRS offices in Cincinnati earlier this month, chapters including the Waco (Texas) Tea Party and the Ohio Liberty Council were asked to provide a list of donors, identify volunteers, financial support for and relationships with political candidates and parties, and even printed copies of their Facebook pages.

"Some of what they (the IRS) asked was reasonable, but there were some requests on there that were strange," Toby Marie Walker, president of the Waco Tea Party told FoxNews.com. "It makes you wonder if they do this to groups like ACORN or other left-leaning groups.”

Read the complete letter sent to the Waco Tea Party by the IRS

The chapters that received requests were registering for nonprofit status as a 501(c)4 organizations. The classification mainly differs from 501(c)3 groups in that donors cannot deduct their contributions from their taxable income.

Not to worry, I’m sure the IRS is doing the same for the resurrected ACORNies /s like I needed to say it.

This is news under a Marxist tyrant?

The Tea Party is in the slammer alongside the Catholic Church, while Billions with (a “B”) of OUR money was hollowed out from the economy to be passed off to Obama’s Marxist cronies, from the Green Room to the HHS Sebelius SS troops.

The government now has limitless funds to go after anyone who balks.

Too much compliance going on, in my estimation. Too much cooperation with evil. The election is probably D Day and is all that remains between us and a Greece replay here, I fear.

God be with us.

Issa’s hearing are like bridges to nowhere; they accomplish nothing but you wouldn’t know it by the cheerleaders here.

This is why a giant FedGov is BAD.

With all the insane laws and regulations you can target whoever you want - there is always some regulation somewhere that can be used against you. Or at least break you with legal fees to prove your innocence.

This is why I don’t like any big FedGov anything. Big Govt is, by its nature, always leftwing/tyrannical. And pushes that agenda. A tiny centralized government forces people to be self reliant, and therefore conservative.

You don’t want a big FedGov politician - even if you like what they say - as the result will always be more leftist/progressive bureaucracy.

If everyone can be a criminal by Fiat, it is a tool that can be used against your political enemies directly.

I don’t put faith in Issa’s hearings either, but people in Government don’t like the heat of the spotlight in Congressional hearings. It won’t accomplish anything, but it might give the bullies pause if they want to continue their unethical actions. Without the spotlight of the hearings, how much further would Fast and Furious have gone?

I signed up for a local Tea Party and 2 months later the IRS contacted me saying That I owed $500 from 2009. And I used turbotax.

“More like Hitler”

Wait until Obastard gets his “Civilian Defense Force” that is as powerful as the military.

It’s for our homeland security and safety, don’t you know.

See my tagline.
