‘Cheerful' Gingrich still spoils for a fight
Atlanta Urinal and Constipation ^ | 2/26/2012 | Daniel Malloy

Posted on 02/26/2012 7:16:43 AM PST by RoosterRedux

Newt Gingrich was barreling toward the end of his stump speech Friday night when Occupy protesters started a ruckus in the theater balcony.

His supporters drowned them out with “Newt” chants and one offered the Republican presidential hopeful a piece of advice: “Stay cheerful.”

He did, but he couldn’t resist a jab.

“It’s all right,” Gingrich said. “It’s nice to be in a free country. … There’s no necessary parallel between noise and intelligence.”

Asked to describe himself in one word at Wednesday’s Republican debate, Gingrich used “cheerful,” but a week-ending campaign swing through Washington state, Idaho and California, showed the uneasy coexistence of Gingrich’s cheer and pugilism.

The idea is to project the image of a happy warrior in the model of President Ronald Reagan. The result is a critique of President Barack Obama that is part comedy routine, part frightening description of a diminished nation and dangerous world in a second Obama term. And though primary GOP rival Mitt Romney no longer has a starring role in the Gingrich’s speeches, he draws the occasional barb, too.

Gingrich conducts much of his derision of Obama in a mocking tone, giving the message a lighter feel. He kept his rally crowds laughing as he referenced Obama’s energy speech in which he talked about algae as a promising alternative fuel.

“We should get a bottle of algae and we can go around and we can have the Obama solution,” Gingrich said Thursday in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. “And maybe what we ought to do at newt.org is we ought to get T-shirts that say, ‘You choose. Newt: Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less. Barack Obama: Have Algae, Pay More, Be Weird.’”

I hope I’m not insulting you by asking you this - but can you decipher the logic of Cain Conservative? I doggoned sure cannot. That last post he did would not rise to the level of irrelevant gibberish.

Oh wait, I know that did insult you. You are way too smart for that.
Please accept my apologies, I will never make that mistake again.

“Huck campaigned miles and miles of Iowa road and inside 900 Pizza Ranches before Fred woke up and considered running.”

That’s the narrative to conceal the fact that Huck ran, and was used by the “social conservatives”, to stop Thompson. Way before, it was known Senator Thompson was running, but just withheld an official announcement until later for tactical and other financial reasons.

“Btw, Santorum did it the Huck-a-way as well.”

And the results for Santorum will be almost the same, except Santorum wants and would accept a high government position other than president as a reward for his participation as a candidate for the nomination.

I can’t help but hope that if Newt’s message on Energy gets the attention it deserves, voters will begin to catch the vision of what just this one issue means to our economy, national security and the futures of our children and grandchildren.

I have never seen any Presidential candidate present such brilliant, well thought out plans as Newt has. It is painful to watch the other’s thrash around in their lies (Romney) and get bogged down in social issues(Santorum) that do nothing to solve anything.

I’m going to ask everyone I know to listen to his Energy Video and then consider sending in a $2.50 donation (the price of 1 gal. of gas under Newt’s plan).

I will be calling my local talk radio station to get the word out, as well. If I weren’t limited by the Hatch Act, I would be doing more to help, but we can all do something to contribute.

If so many of our sons, as did mine, and daughters can give their lives for our country, surely we can Pray and be soldiers in what ever way God shows us. If we don’t, those who have sacrificed before us will have died in vain, and we will leave our children in the ruins of a once great country.

God Bless Newt Gingrich to whom God has given such vision, and may He give wisdom and understanding to His people.

Newt will knock that goofy smile off of Obama’s marxist face. The others need to take one for the team, Santos is a

an opportunist. Tried to take Newt out as speaker; never defends

him as Newt defends little Ricky. Votes for policies he says that he is against. What a mess, a Bushie to stop Mitt Romney. Great plan there, Rush (got yer guy)Wake up, people, support Newt. Been warning you guys for months/trying to help/you want this, it's yours, fight for Newt/otherwise, it's Mitt.

=>Cain Conservative?

I think this person has been given warnings by the mods. They sometimes come across as a plant to keep the conservatives dis spirited. No positives for Newt/mostly bashing him and the supporters.

We are missing such an opportunity. Newt will be the best

person to be up on the stage with Obama. Newt could explain

the differences of Obama redistribution vs. ones liberties; while

gaining more people to open their minds. Newt is brilliant. Nothing comes easy without fighting hard for it. May God help us. I want to win with change. So far, it's safe candidate, to many. The longer this gets in people's minds, it hurts in having a bold change. So, party bosses like the conservatives dividing votes. Change course, folks. Splitting votes isn't working, let's get behind Newt. His bold reforms will trump whatever the parties throw his way.

Baggage??? You don’t think that Paul Traub and Barry Gold are bigger baggage for Romney? That’s cronyism at the highest levels.

No, gotta have a “social” CONservative ya know.

Newt is the ONLY man who even remotely has the brains or the ability to figure out what needs to be done. This “Anybody but Romney” insanity is the very thing that will guarantee Romney wins.

And God forbid that they look closely at a candidate's actual history before going completely fanatical over them.

I don’t understand how someone that calls himself Cain Conservative makes the jump to big government nanny state Huckabee. Seems to be a pretty big ideological jump.

Newt is great on social issues. He just doesn’t wear it on his sleeve, or think it’s wise to center a campaign around those issues.
