‘Cheerful' Gingrich still spoils for a fight
Atlanta Urinal and Constipation ^ | 2/26/2012 | Daniel Malloy

Posted on 02/26/2012 7:16:43 AM PST by RoosterRedux

Newt Gingrich was barreling toward the end of his stump speech Friday night when Occupy protesters started a ruckus in the theater balcony.

His supporters drowned them out with “Newt” chants and one offered the Republican presidential hopeful a piece of advice: “Stay cheerful.”

He did, but he couldn’t resist a jab.

“It’s all right,” Gingrich said. “It’s nice to be in a free country. … There’s no necessary parallel between noise and intelligence.”

Asked to describe himself in one word at Wednesday’s Republican debate, Gingrich used “cheerful,” but a week-ending campaign swing through Washington state, Idaho and California, showed the uneasy coexistence of Gingrich’s cheer and pugilism.

The idea is to project the image of a happy warrior in the model of President Ronald Reagan. The result is a critique of President Barack Obama that is part comedy routine, part frightening description of a diminished nation and dangerous world in a second Obama term. And though primary GOP rival Mitt Romney no longer has a starring role in the Gingrich’s speeches, he draws the occasional barb, too.

Gingrich conducts much of his derision of Obama in a mocking tone, giving the message a lighter feel. He kept his rally crowds laughing as he referenced Obama’s energy speech in which he talked about algae as a promising alternative fuel.

“We should get a bottle of algae and we can go around and we can have the Obama solution,” Gingrich said Thursday in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. “And maybe what we ought to do at newt.org is we ought to get T-shirts that say, ‘You choose. Newt: Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less. Barack Obama: Have Algae, Pay More, Be Weird.’”

If the media ran Newt in California, he’d win all the coming primaries

Franklin, Grant, Churchill and other great leaders were also flawed, but they did historically great things. Mister NOOT’s done it before, and he’s the only one even giving specific notions about how he’s going to fix all that’s wrong this time, and there’s plenty wrong. And, he’ll fight for it, tooth and nail. Romney’s part of the problem(s), and Santorum’s not man enough, IMHO.

Santorum needs a bit more thumping to get the picture. To turn to an intellegent alliance with Newt properly places Santorum in the shadow of the giant, where we observe that Santorum can take us nowhere politically that Newt has not already been, and won.

I can assure you that as a Catholic, Rick is a sinner with regular visits to confession.

But the biggest political sin of all is the Rombots (Einsteins) at this site rooting for Willard to beat Rick in Michigan.

But to all the conservatives here who want the liberal, Willard Romney to lose Michigan this Tuesday:

“The Rick Santorum Call from Home Program allows you and Santorum supporters from across the nation to help Rick and the campaign by calling voters in key battleground states. The program is simple, easy and can have a huge impact on the election.”

Huck and Fred as a team would have crushed McLame last election.

Huck/Fred 2008 would have beat Obama/Biden by a solid five points.

I wonder just how “perfect” Santorum really is. I’ve only known one perfect person. And he was nailed to a cross.

Newt would debate the narcissist in the court of public opinion even if The Won tried to run and hide.

And obliterate him!

You’re right. To date, Romney’s has been circumspect and cautious in his attacks for obvious reasons. By his own admission, Rick lacks vision.

The obamacrats and the liberal media are the only ones bashing Gingrich for "spoiling for a fight". Truth is, someone NEEDS to be fighting the tyranny that is overtaking our land.

The GOP-E crowd is cowed in a corner, shaking in their wingtips that someone might say something offensive to overlord obama.

Seems that Newt is the only one so far that has the courage to tell the truth.

“Huck and Fred as a team would have crushed McLame last election.Huck/Fred 2008 would have beat Obama/Biden by a solid five points.”

That hypothetical I could agree with you on, but how would those two ever have been able to become a team when Huck entered the race in the first place to STOP the Thompson candidacy?

Good point.

But don’t mention brains to Cain Conservative. You’ll lose him with that train of thought.

You can’t use logic and historical fact and reality and reach a guy who still thinks Huckaboo is a great conservative.

I mean it’s one thing to have thought that for a while in 07-08 - but to still be under such a delusion requires a certain lack of firing synapses.

Thus, without those needed electrical pulses in the brain working, I don’t think your very well stated post will reach the intended target.

Huck campaigned miles and miles of Iowa road and inside 900 Pizza Ranches before Fred woke up and considered running.

Btw, Santorum did it the Huck-a-way as well.

For someone who includes the owner of this forum as though he were some sort of partner, especially from one who was not even a member at the time you make the claim, should at least have learned the correct forum protocol of pinging Jim when you include his name in a comment.

Obama has created a HUGE power vacuum on the right and the only one who has the slightest ability to fill it is Newt.

Only Newt can fire the enthusiasm of the party and still appeal to independents. Romney will lose the base and Santorum will put almost everyone to sleep.
