FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer endorsed Mitt Romney for the Republican presidential nomination on Sunday, saying he is the most electable candidate in the field.
Hes the man that can carry the day, Mrs. Brewer said on NBCs Meet the Press.

How many people has Mitt promised the VP slot to?
What a sell-out. Brewer, like Haley, turns out to be more Pander Bear than Mama Grizzly.
And I was really starting the like her after she pointed the finger at O. Go Newt!
Jan Brewer was Lt Gov under Janet Napolitano. Compared to Marxist Janet, Jan looked good. But she was considered squishy EXCEPT for gun control.
So, guns are here only really conservative trait. Other than that, she is a Romneyette.
I don’t think she had any choice, as we discussed yesterday. There’s a large contingent of Mormons in Arizona, and Bishop Romney instructs them how to vote.
I was hoping she would not endorse anyone, as she suggested earlier, but I think Bishop Romney’s thugs twisted her arm.
Hopefully the voters will see this for what it is, and not be influenced.
There went my respect for her. Very disappointing...
she’s knows the fix is in - and who’s ass she’ll need to be kissing come November..
How much did Mitt donate to her campaign?
If nothing else, Mitt is proving how easy it is to buy off these so called “principled” Republicans. I hope folks remember this when Haley, Brewer, etc. are up for re-election.
OMG!
What’s going on behind the curtain?
I would doubt they outnumber the Protestants and Catholics. That argument doesn't make sense.
The ‘more’ the OBomney’s ‘buy’, the worse they look.
Mormons !! They’re everywhere !!!
Yeah, regardless of whom she might have endorsed, it doesn’t impress me that she waited until a few days before the election, when she could pretty much make sure she went with the winner. If Santorum was well ahead, does anybody think she would have still endorsed Romney?
This was very disconcerting news. This race is either showing true colors or making people go against their grain.
Or under the table.
I’m glad I don’t have to sell my soul to keep my job.
We are learning who the establishment ones are in this process...nikki haley, jan brewer, and who knows who else...
Oh. What a flaky dissappointment. Romney is making promises he can’t keep.
Of course she had a choice. She could have stood up for conservative principles over political expediency. But Brewer is no Ronald Reagan, nor is she a Sarah Palin.
It’s truly the establishment VERSUS THE GRASSROOTS.
If the the establishment is against your candidate, you’re on the RIGHT side.
Now that’s just plain depressing. How far do the leftist tentacles go? Brewer was actively fighting Mitt’s cousins in the Administration and decides that a McCain-type “rebel” will be a solution? I expect her next step will be to run as a left-leaning “Independent”.
I like Myth’s position on illegal immagration vs Newt’s.Newt will disappoint conservative’s in the immgration issue.
Don't forget Gov Bob McDonnell of VA!!! ...and, of course, Chris Christie; not that I ever considered him a Conservative to begin with!
No one ever said the establishment were idiots. They’re just moderates and liberals.
Btw, who did you support last cycle, and this current one?
Twelve, one in each of his "home states".
The reactions on this thread are why I love FreeRepublic: it’s always good for a laugh.
Which position? Willard’s had about four on immigration alone.
Won’t help. Brewers endorsement will drive away as many as it will invite. Sheriff Arpaio is the most powerful endorsement in Arizona. Brewer, not so much.
if you are asking about the 2008 presidential race, I supported Bab Barr.
If you are talking about the 2010 Arizona Gov. race, I supported Jan Brewer.
Who did you support? John (bought & paid for) McCain?
“Compared to Marxist Janet, Jan looked good. But she was considered squishy EXCEPT for gun control.”
Exactly. Written like a conservative from Arizona...
This is an example of why Sarah Palin does not lend a formal endorsment. It is terribly disappointing to swaths of desporate
supporters.
However, it was down to the wire in Jan’s own home state, and she is found endorsing the polling leader. Not new, and AZ is no Florida in delegates, where there it would seem tasteful and more statesman like to weigh keeping one’s mouth shut.
This was likely just retail politics for Jan.
“Brewer previously served as Secretary of State of Arizona, from January 2003 until then-Governor Janet Napolitano resigned after being selected as Secretary of Homeland Security in January 2009. Brewer became Governor of Arizona as part of the line of succession, as determined by the Arizona constitution.”
No Lt Gov, but Jan was second in line to the more liberal Jan, who went to DC to screw up our national security.
Things may improve when the campaign moves into the Southern and Midwestern states, away from Mormon country.
In her defense, she also has opposed the gay lobby...although she would like a tax increase.
You don’t like Newt’s panel of governors from border states? How silly is that? What is Mittfitt’s position anyway? Oh yeah - self-deportation..... lol I gave myself a ticket for speeding the other day too.
A bit of political history:
” Speaking to attendees of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerces Black and White Ball Saturday night at the downtown Phoenix Sheraton, Governor Jan Brewer refused to say whether or not she would sign state Senator Russell Pearces police state/anti-immigrant bill SB 1070. But she assured the crowd that she understood its opposition to the measure.
In regards to Senate Bill 1070, she stated, I will tell you that I never make comment, like most governors throughout our country, before a bill reaches my desk. But I hear you, and I will assure you that I will do what I believe is the right thing so that everyone is treated fairly.
Her statement prompted a quip from the following speaker, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, who asked the mostly Latino crowd, I think what I just heard was a commitment to veto that bill, whatdya think?
“Stephen Lemons of the Phoenix New Times points out that a recent Rasmussen poll shows Brewer ahead of a wide field of contenders in the GOP gubernatorial primary with 26 percent support. Given that two-thirds (67%) of Arizonas GOP primary voters say that a candidates position on immigration is very important in determining how they will vote, Brewers decision on SB 1070 will certainly affect her comfortable lead.”

She wasn’t exactly at the front, leading the charge...but she also wanted to be the GOP nominee...
"So much for integrity. "
"There went my respect for her."
"What a sell-out."
She's no conservative and never has been."
"I always knew she was a RINO."
LOL!
Folks , I been telling you Party Politicos, have lots of power. They simply bribe, blackmail and steal to further their agenda, and it looks a lot more like a progressive agenda, than Tea Party Conservatism.
" I would doubt they outnumber the Protestants and Catholics. That argument doesn't make sense. "
can the protestants and catholics guarantee over 90% turnout for their members to vote in bloc? the mormons did to push CA's prop 8...they didnt need numbers, they had obedience
what do you think the lds turnout will be to hire their boy Romney?...not 16% like the national average take whatever the mormon numbers are and multiply them by 5 if its a cause their leaders espouse, unlike any other faith, if the 'call' comes they will answer as one body (more or less)
i'm an exmormon and i know of no one in my family or any other church member who isnt lockstep behind Romney...not getting into a faith discussion, just statistics
The marching orders are in. The elite want Romney. And those left to vote in the Primaries better damn well pay attention.
And if this thing goes to Romney, lay the blame squarely on Gingrich.
Romney as our nominee is too terrifying to contemplate ... but here we go
Santorum 2012

"Thanks Jan. You had me worried that you wouldn't endorse Romney. Yoo. Hoo!"

I no longer have any respect for my governor, McDonnell. A few weeks ago I saw him on Fox, shilling for Romney, and I saw him fudge the truth for Willard and squirm while doing so. He was asked if he agreed with Romney that Newt resigned in disgrace. McDonnell shifted around a little, and wouldn't look the interviewer (I think it was Greta) in the eye as he mumbled, "Well, he did resign." Disgusting.
On another note, I don't want to post a vanity about it, but I'm wondering if anyone is talking about Ann Coulter's unbelievable lie on Fox & Friends today. She said that, even when pushed to do so, Romney has refused to attack his "fellow conservatives." OMG.
It’s only Newt looking out for her state borders
Who is the cyborg in the back ground?
The ticket is going to end up Romney/Gingrich. Just watch.
I’ll vote for ELMER FUDD over Obama....so if Mitt gets in....he’s got my vote.
I respect that. However, I, and many, will not. I refuse to vote for the enemy to invade the GOP. That is something even more difficult to extract.
I will be voting Third Party or write in if Romney is nominated.
Santorum 2012
I believe Sheriff “Stud Boy” endorsed Mitt as well.
