President Obama was worried about the safety of American troops and civilian workers in Afghanistan when he apologized to that country's president, Hamid Karzai, over the burning of Qurans at the largest US military base there, the White House said Friday.

When there is some perceived outrage by someone on the right by the left, if the person on the right then apologizes the left will go into a feeding frenzy that the perceived outrage is so great that an apology just won't work.

That apology, and the miltary’s mr. milktoast apologies will only embolden the protesters. Apologies to these wretched enemies will cost American lives. They are itching for a confrontation and we should accommodate them. Obviously they are Taliban followers.
The US has dome marvelous things for Afghanistan at many levels, never to be appreciated. But we don't and should not look for kudos - we do what is right because it is the American way.
