President Barack Obama has written a letter to his Afghan counterpart apologizing for the burning of copies of the Quran at a NATO military base in the country. Two U.S. soldiers were also shot dead Thursday at a protest about the desecration of the holy books.
A man wearing an Afghan government soldier's uniform killed the American troops and wounded four others at the demonstration in Nangarhar province, officials told NBC News.
There have been violent protests daily since it emerged on Tuesday that Qurans used by detainees held at the Bagram military base had been burned. The incident has become a public relations disaster for foreign forces in Afghanistan.

I'd wager he was wearing the uniform because he IS an Afghani soldier.

If someone had burned Bibles, and Christians went nuts and shot some troops, the Christians would be rounded up and jailed, no apologies given.
To apologize to people who respond inappropriately is a sign of weakness, and we will pay somewhere down the line for being weak, count on it.
Did he include a declaration of sorrow for the terrible waste of the ammo that was needed to kill our troops in his apology?

Two US troops killed over this? I’d burn every mosque to the ground within a 100 mile radius ... but thats just me.

As soon as our Muslim-in-chief pulls out US troops Afghanistan will revert to a Taliban run hell hole and all the good US troops have done not to mention the lives that have been sacrificed will be for nothing. The schools and hospitals that have been built by direct donations made by US troops and US organizations will torn down. I pity the women and young girls who for the first time have experienced education as they will now be persecuted and killed as the Taliban drag the country back into 6th century barbarism.
