I was applauding when he brought up the subject of Obama and the Born Alive Act, saying Hussein is a proponent of infanticide. Wonder how much play that clip will get on the MSM? Oh, yeah; I know... none.

Re: Who Won.
The morning after points, of course, to Gingrich as the winner and Romney holding his own. Santorum seems to be the overall loser for failing to make many points.
CNN’s King remarked that their debate last evening could very well have been the last televised debate of the GOP primary season. If that is true, Newtiebots need to see their candidate at the top of the heap by the end of today’s various polls. Otherwise, Gingrich may not have another chance to make a ‘national’ impression. Gingrich needs at least one major win before SuperTuesday. If that doesn’t happen, he becomes the hucka-hanger-on by staying in the race.
The race was tightening in Michigan, and the debate may have helped Romney squeak out must-win there.
Paul is always scary on foreign affairs.
All in all, I don’t see any real changes as a result of the debate. Santorum showed vunerabilities, but, being the frontrunner, it was his turn to be the object of the bull’s eye. Even so, unless Gingrich springs to the top of the heap [and I don’t see that happening], Santorum is still the not-Romney alternative.
What I saw was: Romney came across as his usual mendacious, faux conservative self w/an extra measure of meanness thrown in for good measure. Rick had a good debate and certainly didn't lose any ground to Romney. Newt had a very good night and was the only one who was effective at turning the “trick questions” back against the media and Obama. Ron Paul was his usual loony self w/a more concerted and coordinated effort to “tagteam” w/Mitt to “score points” on Rick.

I watched the debate and I do not buy the media conclusion about those who performed the best.
Again, the star of the show was the moderator who intentionally stirred attacks against candidates with “flame questions” such as the “fake” question to Ron Paul.
For the most part, Santorum did as well as anyone for the major part of the debate EXCEPT for the omnibus bill questions.
Gingrich did well on every question and was not touched at all by anyone.
Romney answered his questions well EXCEPT that the Romneycare questions really get him visibly flustered. There is a huge dishonesty about the man regarding conservatism, and every time he pretends it I see his actual past rather than his rewritten past. The most telling dishonesty was signaled by Gingrich’s “are you kidding” look at Romney and then Gingrich reemphasizing his point about Romney’s deceit by quoting an article written on the issue.
Paul always seems hesitant every time he answers anything. It might just be a voice quirk. I also sense a basic dishonesty about his responses such as getting troops off the Pakistan border and putting them on the US border.
Gingrich was the best.
Santorum has to better explain why an omnibus bill with some evil mixed with some good and a lot of average in it must be supported. There needs to be a clincher argument on that one, and not just a passable answer.
Romney is an unrepentant liar, but a good one.
Paul’s quavering voice hides something wrong, but I’m not sure if it’s a touch of uncertainty about his positions or a touch of instability.
But, I saw no knockout blows yesterday at all.
Newt is a “Statesman” with solutions, the others fall short.

We need Santorum to win in Michigan, otherwise it’s over for Rick and Newt. It could very well be conservatism’s Waterloo.
If Rick wins, Romney’s donations dry up, and we have a level playing field. Hopefully Michigan viewers picked up on Romney’s phoniness.
Oregon has a debate on the schedule. Do Mitt and Rick want their schoolyard fight (and Newt's statesmanship) the last thing they remember???
Then too, people in GA and TN (and I dare say a few others) will be nodding and thinking, "It's obvious why Mitt and Rick backed out of our state's long scheduled debate. Newt outshines them all w/o breaking a sweat."
I don't think this was the "last" debate.
Last night, Newt PUBLICLY ACCUSED THE PRESIDENT OF SUPPORTING INFANTICIDE!
And this accusation hasn’t merited a headline, or even discussion.
We are in deep, deep trouble as a nation.

When he stays “on message” so to speak, he is the wise old owl and is exactly what we need.
I think the main reason people are not falling over themselves to vote for him has to do with the perception that he is easily distracted.
That was my main reluctance initially.
But we live in very troubliing times.
I am still concerned but I got over that tendency when I realized its a choice between someone who appears to be in league with the devil or a flawed human being.
There is no question that Gingrich is 10,000 times better for America than an Obama-nation.
The real thing is ALWAYS better than the understudy!
