“Satan has his sights on the United States of America!” Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has declared.

“Satan is attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity, and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that has so deeply rooted in the American tradition.”…

“This is a spiritual war. And the Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, influential country – the United States of America. If you were Satan, who would you attack in this day and age?”

“He attacks all of us and he attacks all of our institutions.”

Rush Limbaugh defended him half-heartedly on his show today, noting that the media thought it was cutesy-poo when evil clown Hugo Chavez compared Bush to the devil a few years ago but conceding that Santorum will “have to deal with it. He’ll have to answer it. I don’t know. It’s just not the kind of stuff you hear a presidential candidate talk about.” At the Post, John Podhoretz wonders if the best replacement for a president who sometimes seems to look down on Americans is … a president who sometimes seems to look down on Americans:

So what? I agree with Santorum. Don’t you?

Rather than focus on what Santorum is doing today and the problems facing our country Drudge has found a 4 year old speech and is distorting and sensationalizing it to make Santorum look bad.

This is part of the MSM/Democrat attack machine narrative to try to show Santorum is outside the mainstream and only cares about social issues.

That being said, I applaud Santorum for recognizing the immorality that is infiltrating our government and our society and for having the courage to speak about it.

Catholics believe in Satan. The largest minority in the country is Hispanic and they are all catholic. Satan in their faith is responsible for evils in the world.

So? The evils exist. We don’t really know what causes people to do wrong or be evil. It doesn’t matter. The Christians call it Satan. The Jews call it the Yetzer Hara (our urge to do what is wrong — which we must suppress and follow our urge to to what is right).

It is not worse to believe it’s a powerful external evil or a powerful, internal evil (bad childhood, etc). The crime is the same.

You know what gets me about all this hitting Santorum for his beliefs?

We must always respect Muslims and their beliefs.

Even the religion the world most likes to kick around, the Jews, have their tenets respected in public life.

But Christians are not allowed to be actual Christians! Unless they are part of another protected minority (see funerals, Whitney Houston).

I also believe there are a lot more people out there who do believe in such evil, but are too embarrassed to discuss it.

I have no problem discussing it, which is why I can see a lot of people are. Heck, they’re even embarrassed to discuss God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit!

I even got my boss starting to discuss the Father (he is a Jew)as well as prayer.

I’m not a Santorum supporter, but I have no dispute with his premise.

You can’t defeat an Enemy you pretend doesn’t exist. Then again, the Left are on Satan’s team already. So for them, ridiculing Santorum’s statement as superstitious and demented is a win-win.

I do also. Never mind that Rick was there as a kind of lay minister, as a witness to his faith. But I am sure than people like George H.W. Bush are not comfortable with talk about the devil. I think he is still a member of TEC, which is becoming a kind of coven of witches and warlocks.

This crap will get old and Santorum better wake up. We need substantive answers like those that Newt gives us. We know King Obama is a communists black Muslim lover and that is what we need to address, not religion.
