PALO ALTO -- Newt Gingrich, fundraising in California this week to bolster his fading presidential campaign, said this afternoon that he is "on the way to Michigan and Arizona," which hold primaries on Feb. 28.

The former House speaker's campaign characterized his week of California fundraising as necessary to compete on Super Tuesday, when 10 states hold primaries or caucuses March 6.

"We're on the way to Michigan and Arizona, but we're out here doing fundraising, and we scheduled this a couple months ago," Gingrich said as he left a series of meetings at the Hoover Institution, a think tank on the Stanford campus.

He added: "It's been very successful so far."

What are Santorum's plans? I have not heard any from him or his campaign.

Then you probably shouldn't have voted.

[Santorum, even though a strong social conservative, will not win the general.]

Bush was also a “strong social CONservative”, and you know how well that worked out for us. He was as big a spender as Clinton and his moderate to liberal fiscal habits handed us Obama in the end.

Looking at Santorum’s actual record, I would say he even makes Bush look like Reagan.

Santorum was my 3rd choice line in the sand candidate. He ain’t perfect but he’s not nearly as manipulative and underhanded as the other two.

After that the GOP is on its own.

For an interesting experiment, go back and take a look at some of the threads from the day Gingrich announced he was running.

I don’t know why you even bother. You obviously don’t have the man parts required to even acknowledge newties big government solutions like incentivinzing alternative energy through a whole new federal agency or the fact that he’s thrown himself at the feet of the open border crowd.

You’re wasting your time.

Rick Santorum has vaulted to the front ranks of the Republican presidential nomination race in part by depicting himself as a religious family man of lowly beginnings who would bring needed change to Washington.

But that characterization leaves out two decades in which Santorum was a central and often high-ranking player in Washington politics, with connections to K Street lobbyists and a lucrative consulting career that made him a millionaire.

Post all you want little boy. If newt is successful in helping Romney take Michigan, it will destroy him.

“For an interesting experiment, go back and take a look at some of the threads from the day Gingrich announced he was running.”

I prefer the “Scozzafava” threads back when Newt was a shill for the “establishment” GOP.

It’s good humor.

You’re right about Santorum. At least you don’t get the sense that he’d sell his soul to the devil to get a bump in the polls.

He’s not as conservative as I’d prefer, but I don’t think he’s a liar like Romney and Newt, and at least he’s not a total scumbag in his personal life like Newt.

I can pull the lever for him sober. I don’t think I could do it sober for Newt or Romney.

Not a problem at all, I heard Newt's plans and agree with every one of them. We are quite happy to have cast our votes for Newt in Arizona.
