We spend a month or so on sail boats in the British Virgin Islands every year and have never seen or experienced any kind of crime.
About a decade or so ago, me and eight friends spent 9 days sailing from island to island in the BVI. We never once saw a policeman, and never once saw the need for one. What a wonderful place.
