I had such an amazing time at CPAC. I met amazing people, heard great conservative speakers, and spent a great deal of time with our blog team which was a lot of fun in and of itself! I wanted to take some time to list my favorite speakers that I heard at the conference. I decided to leave out all of the GOP candidates as I didn't get to see two of them so I don't want to give a biased answer or make anyone think I'm endorsing someone. If you wanted to go to CPAC or you missed any of these speeches I would urge you to watch them! They are extremely good.

I still trying to figure out why Ann Coulter was there being that she had a sex, I mean party change, and became a liberal. I was half expecting Keith Olbermann to show up next after that, but I guess there was no need being that Ann spoke for him.
So the author would choose the not a natural born citizen Rubio over the one who got the most standing ovations???

GINGRICH: Now, I am going to give you a series of solutions that are big enough to get America back on the right track. And I think this has been the greatest challenge of this campaign.
We have lots of bickering; we have lots of arguments about this and that. We have virtually no discussion of what does it really take to take the most complicated society in the world, the largest economy in the world, and move it back to being the most successful, most prosperous, safest and freest country in the world.
So I am going to try this afternoon to set the stage for that.
And we have tons of details at Newt.org — any of you want, to just go to my first name dot org. You will see an immense amount of material.
But the standard here is that solutions big enough to get America working again — and the principle is to unleash the American people to rebuild the America we love.
Let me start with jobs: If I am the nominee, with your help, I will ask the entire Republican ticket to campaign with me on the pledge that when the Congress comes in on January 3, it will stay in session, and by January 20, when I am sworn in, it will have repealed Obamacare.
GINGRICH: It will have repealed Dodd-Frank.
GINGRICH: It will have repealed Sarbanes-Oxley.
GINGRICH: All three of those are job killing bills, which centralized bureaucracy in Washington DC and increased the corruption of the political system. All three should be repealed and held at the desk until I am sworn in. That afternoon, on the very first day, we should sign the repeal of all three. That's a reasonable start.
GINGRICH: Two hours after the Inaugural Address — that was just the hors d’oeurve. We haven't got around to serious work, yet.
After the Inaugural Address, I will spend it signing executive orders and presidential findings. All of them will have been published by October 1. The country will know precisely what this campaign is about.
The very first executive order will abolish all of the White House czars, as of that moment.
GINGRICH: We will sign, that day, an executive order, which as of that moment, approves of the Canadian pipeline to Houston, period.
GINGRICH: My message to Prime Minister Harper and the Canadian government is simple: You do not need a partnership with the Chinese. Give the American people a few months. When we beat Obama on election night, you can start buying equipment because we will approve it on January 20th.
GINGRICH: There will be an executive order to move the State Department, to put the embassy in Jerusalem as of that day, period.
GINGRICH: We will, that day, reinstate Ronald Reagan's “Mexico City Policy” — No money for abortion overseas, period.
GINGRICH: And we will have an executive order to repeal every act of religious bigotry by the Obama administration period.
My goal, with your help, is that by the time President Obama lands in Chicago, we will have repudiated at least 40 percent of his government on the opening-day.

Ann Coulter and CPAC are both friendly with Mitt Romney and GOProud. It makes sense for her to be there since the organizers of CPAC feel the same way. What I wonder is why any real conservatives bother showing up. Didn't FR join the boycott of the CPAC last year? What happened to that this year?

I know, I was there. Again, I didn’t put in any candidates because I didn’t see all of them so I didn’t want to be biased. But I still disagree. I don’t think Newt gave that great of a speech. He didn’t bring anything new to the table. He has said all of that before.
Maybe they were just "bought."
What I read was that the author wants Rubio on the VP list and also said that even though he likes Sarah that she is not a VP or POTUS choice.

Pretty much the same as every year at CPAC... she was and still is a Rock Star. The room was pretty much densely packed as when Sarah Palin spoke on Saturday. And that Marriott ballroom is massive - biggest venue I've ever seen.
When Ann mentioned her "fondness" for Romney, there was some grumbling in segments of the audience, but overall the crowd absolutely loved her.
Just my observations after attending the entire conference for the full 3 days (and part of Wednesday night): The crowd seemed to be pretty evenly split 30-30-30 between Romney, Gingrich and Santorum supporters. 10% Ron Paul supporters.
Also... My husband and I and our friends did take part in this year's straw poll at CPAC. FReepers aren't going to like hearing this (yes, I know Romney won - we didn't vote for him), but this was the first of our 10 consecutive years attending CPAC where we felt that the straw poll was (finally) conducted in a scientific, legit manner - as far as we could tell anyway - so the results are most likely correct.
We were each given a special PIN number so we could only vote once - no stuffing of ballot boxes with stupid paper ballots for the first time in 10 years, so no hijacking of the poll by Paul-bots, or Romney-bots, etc. If you tried to vote again with that PIN number, you couldn't do it.
Wow, thanks for all those CPAC links on this thread, Mozilla! Dana Loesch is a treasure... I’m SO glad she’s on our side! She could (and probably should) overtake Ann Coulter as “Rock Star babe” of the conservative movement! She’s a big hit at every CPAC.

Sarah’s speech rocked.
Ann Coulter's speech? No, the place was rockin'. But as I said, at least 1/3 of the audience was pretty anti-Romney, so there were a few boos, and a lot of grumbling that probably didn't pick up well on the video.
I didn’t get to hear/see all of the speeches, but these were my 2 favorites from the ones I saw. I thought Newt did well, too.

Yes, Newt always brings the house down at CPAC each year! His speech this year was extra good.
Also... like her or not, Ann Coulter always rocks the house at CPAC - she did it again this year. Wayne LaPierre delivers a kick-ass CPAC speech each year as well.

bumbed, i cant find Allan West’s speech from this year.
Mitt loaded the wagons with his guys and drove them to the convention to vote. An old technique. That is the way that Wilkie won in 1940.
Hannan’s speech got to me. Like when I hear Charles’ Laughton’s renditiion of the Gettysburg Address on You Tube. Check that out if you haven’r hear it. Laughton makes Lincoln’s words sing.
