How does Sarah Palin connect so well with her crowds?
Investors Business Daily ^ | Monday February 13, 2012 | Andrew Malcolm

She has the ability to speak about issues that profoundly bother the audience in common ways and words that listeners instantly recognize and wish they had thought to say just that way. Watch in the video below of her full CPAC speech for how this church-going mother of five mocks Obama's Winning the Future program with an almost off-color aside. And prompts shared laughter, not shock.

[....]

Instead, instinctively Palin doesn't speak at or to audiences. She speaks for them. She tells them what they've already accomplished through the tea party, for instance, and what they can accomplish this year and beyond if united. It's empowering and invigorating, no longer burdened by the attacks of enemies, she need play no defense. The audience hears that she knows them and eagerly becomes hers. To criticize Sarah is to criticize them.

P.S. After his CPAC speech, Santorum and clan walked off the stage. After theirs, Romney and Gingrich stepped down to shake hands with front-row members for a few minutes. Good moves.

After hers, Palin got a standing ovation. She waved for two minutes then plunged into the audience. Moving slowly like a mini-mob from one side of the vast ballroom to the other to accommodate the waves of well-wishers with hands outstretched and cellphones poised. Some sections spontaneously sang 'Happy Birthday' for her. And she was thrilled every time.

Right. She is one of us, the average American that has common sense and it registers. She is a saint from heaven.

Ever wonder why recorded voices on the phone, in cars heck, even in fighter jets(ex. “Bingo fuel’’, fuel is running low) are female? Because female voices command attention and when Sarah speaks, people listen. She intelligent and knows how to work a crowd and get her point across without a telepromter.

Yep - that's it in a nutshell. Not much else needed to be said.

This is one reason IBD is an up and coming publication; they consistently get it whereas most others, including the WSJ, don't. The other reason, incidentally, is you can actually make money with IBD. The others you just read about other people making money, the way I see it.

I was thinking on this the other day. One hugely effective bit of stagecraft is to simply step away from the lectern.

Pick up the microphone, step to one side and you are saying “Lets not have things seperating us. I don’t need notes, and have no desire to be seperated from you, the people.”

The media has made fun of her because she's not Ivy League.

Of the three front-runners, only Mitt is Ivy League (Harvard, MBA, JD), which may contribute to why the Establishment like him.

But, but, but, Mark Levin say he is fully qualified.

I think the Great One is wrong on this issue, and I think he is wrong for not lending a hand to those that are fighting the one who is ineligible. A fact that even a non lawyer type can see, even those with only half a brain.

To be fair not one talking head will touch this issue, leaving the question, why not, open to many interpretations, lazy, unwilling, stupid, under duress, or complicit. Take your pick. I believe McCain did not bring it up because his own NBC status may not stand up in a Supreme Court test.

We the surfs will never know the real truth.

Call me a birther if you wish, even though I find it more likely than not that he was born in Hawaii. One thing I know for certain about this issue is that the so-called BC that is currently on the White House website in pdf, is an absolute fraud. I talked to my son about it a few nights ago, and was surprised that he had never heard of this particular aspect. He screamed, “Birther!” So I made him a bet. In five minutes he was convinced. I didn’t take much because he very computer savvy. Only people unfamiliar with the basics of Adobe software could come away from even a cursory examination of the BC and remain skeptical. All else is debatable, the White House BC pdf is NOT debatable. It is a fraud.

A freeper has an interesting post regarding Obama’s legality. I looked at the posting history and he appears to be quite knowledgable about the law but a little cantankerous and so won’t do much in the way of responding. Here it is:

When Barry Soetoro, Indonesian National, arrived in Hawaii as an Unaccompanied Minor in 1971, he was not waved through customs to the awaiting arms of his grandmother. He was taken into Federal Protective custody as an abandoned alien child. He remained in the legal custody of Catholic Social Services of Connecticut until he reached the age of majority while living with his guardian, his grandmother Madelyn Payne Dunham.

It was Catholic Social Services of Connecticut, under contract with U.S. HHS, that flew BHO Sr. from Africa to Hawaii in December, 1971 to attend a custody hearing. It was at this time the Soetoro adoption was annulled, BHO Sr replaced Lolo Soetoro on the birth record, Barry Soetoro’s legal name was changed to Barack Hussein Obama II and the Court Ordered the record to be “filed” with HI DoH. BHO’s II citizenship remained Indonesian.

BHO II naturalized as an American citizen in 1983, 5 years after he reached the age of majority.
