Palin Hints at Romney Flaws

WASHINGTON—Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin didn't endorse any of the Republicans presidential candidates in a speech to conservative activists Saturday, but she hinted that Mitt Romney might be a flawed candidate in a general-election matchup with President Barack Obama.

Ms. Palin, the 2008 vice-presidential nominee, told a raucous crowd that the Republican candidate needed to be someone whose conservatism is heartfelt and "instinctive."

"It's too late in the game to teach it or spin it at this point," said Ms. Palin, who didn't mention the Republican hopefuls by name. "It's either there or it isn't."

The comments to that WSJ article are something else. There is only one supporter of Gov. Palin. The rest have PDS to one extent or another, usually extreme. There is one Dem poster who lays out the Dem opposition research attack strategy against Mitt. It’s worth a read to get a sense of what is in store for us if Romney is nominated. She was supposed to wait until August, but couldn’t help herself.

She hinted at Santorum's flaws by attacking crony capitalism and career politicians.

She hinted at Newt by using the same Declaration of Independence quote he used his FL concession.

He's got the baggage, for sure.

Conservative as in W.F. Buckley? Not this lifetime.

Have you ever wondered why those two support a union man who has voted against right to work-think about it. Most of his own state is non- union. Rick has not even been vetted, think about it. Do you think Rush is going to get his family values supporters mad at him. He has already lost alot of his strong conservative listeners. Mitt will win over Rick. I am sorry but that is just around the corner unless Palin steps in.

There is a simple reason that Ronald Reagan could explain Conservative philosophy so clearly - he believed it. The same is true today of real Conservatives like Sarah Palin, Marco Rubio and Daniel Hannan. It's not necessarily that they are gifted orators, but that Conservatism is "in their gut" and therefore not difficult to explain.

The opposite is true of fake Conservatives like Dole, Bush, McCain and Romney. Their tortured words belie the simple fact that true Conservatism just isn't in them. As Palin said, "It's either there or it isn't."

She hinted something else which Newt has said. This government is not too big to fail, it’s too big to succeed.

Another line Newt says at rallies. The President believes we need to centralize power.

She repeated to audience members that CPAC was initiated by conservative activists who were out to remake the Republican Party. Reagan called for “bold colors, not pale pastels,” she said. ( as Newt)

She took up for that line in which he uses about his life, his fortune and sacred honor (as some have ridiculed him)

And the part where she scolded Ann Coulter about throwing out the bath water which was a reference to Ann's bashing Newt) She is giving clues so I keep praying she will campaign for him soon.

Be aware that if she does ever run, the Dems will bring up her leaving before the end of her term as gov. Then again while Mitt did complete his term, he turned his attention pretty much to a prez run, or at least laying groundwork for it, while still in office)

The result of the straw vote, however, shows that Romney paid the way for a lot of the attendees. Plus, despite their cheers,many of those there came from the Beltway. Shrink the government, they say, but again , not so fast!

Something else: Palin is the best stump speaker among national political figures. Rubio is a better speaker, over all, as he can do both formal and informal.

The lives, fortunes and sacred honor is really a Santorum line. It fits him better.
