It’s time for Newt to pull out, he’s just there to help Romney win.

(LOL, I’ve said that about all the others, might as well say it about Newt now)

Yes, it’s important to note that Gallup runs a five-day trailing poll. So yesterday’s poll, taken the five days before, which showed Romney still on top, is misleading. Because the poll had been fairly stable, you can infer roughly what the past two days’ data was, which suggests tahht Santorum has caught Romney.

Santorum may have enough juice to win Michigan AND Arizona - Michigan has to be #1, though, to embarass Mitt on his own turf.

I am a strong Newt supporter, but.... I need to be consistent.

When Newt was way ahead I urged Santorum to drop out... now I must do that same to Newt.

Out first priority must be to stop Romney, and to do that I now urge Newt to drop out so we can unite this party against Romney. It’s a shame that Mitt was able to demonize Newt so easily :(

This would be funny - Newt and Mitt so taken with their hatred for each other that they thought they could ignore Santorum - except that once vetted, Santorum will prove to be a shamefully weak candidate.

We are in trouble.

[when Romney uses his superior resources to pulverize him, we could see this lead evaporate just as quickly as it was built up]

Have voters not figured the lying snake Romney out yet? Romney is going to live whoever wins, Newt or Santorm, limping into the general.

Santorum’s defeat of Romney’s severe inevitability is just great...for now. But Santorum doesn’t have the style to carry it through to victory in November. We need a real powerhouse to win. We need a brokered convention to nominate a real winner (and it’s not Jeb Bush.)

One day, Obama pushed a button called “stimulus” and overnight we were in a trillion-dollar debt position.

What's truly astonishing is none of these guys that I can tell (except Paul, who's rightly called a "moonbat" for other reasons) are talking about CUTTING GOVERNMENT even though we are on the precipice of this multi-trillion-dollar debt abyss.

How is this possible? We MUST have tax cuts. But they cannot be sustained without MAJOR CUTS IN GOVERNMENT starting with CUTTING ENORMOUS WASTE, USELESS CABINET DEPARTMENTS (most of them), and A LOT OF "ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS" (NOT defense, a legitimate government activity, even though our whole defense and intelligence capabilities need an overhaul because of 25 years of mismanagement since Reagan).

Santorum’s “balanced-budget” demand is of course suicide because the Leftists will use it as an excuse to raise taxes, the opposite of what needs to happen. There must be pressure to cut taxes and spending and that isn’t done with a balanced budget amendment but with sound fiscal policy. A balanced budget amendment is a bad idea because it doesn’t address our most critical political and economic problem: big government. It simply shifts the burden of the government’s budget mismanagement problem onto the backs of the American people.

Santorum offers a “balanced budget” instead of less government. That’s a terrible choice. How can we not have one guy with his head screwed on straight talking about this stuff? Maybe we really are in the Final Days and God is starting to allow things accordingly.

Do you think the adoring McCain drives by Romney's mansion past midnight wearing night-vision goggles?

For all the rah rah about Gingrich a few weeks ago, this polling shows why he would never win against Obama, if he were nominated. Gingrich's load of baggage comes with a load of negatives. And the numbers above are from the GOP side; they would be even worse among Dems and Independents.

Additionally, Gingrich showed in FL that he could be vunerable even in debates.

==

I never would have a year ago that Santorum would turn out to be the best of the bunch remaining at this stage.

==

A brokered convention might be interesting, but I fear the Party of Stupid would live up to their name and nominate Jeb. That would be certain defeat. Any Bush would be even more unpopular than the current cast of contenders -- including Obama.

Actually, I think this may a good thing for Newt, Santorum is scorching romney effectively, Newt can stand by and watch the destruction take place without looking ‘negative’.

It’s the ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’ scenario. Newt can then pick the best time to surge to finish line.

JMO.

My concern is that many people out there don’t follow politics or even know who Rick Santorum is yet.

The GOP-E(unfortunately) and informed Conservatives are tuned in but...
It’ll take time to get the attention of the masses.

The wheels have fallen off white Obama. Romney has no support among Conservatives and should quit now.

Seems to be a lot of excitement for Santorum here in Michigan.
