Madonna called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” to discuss her Super Bowl performance including the controversy around M.I.A.‘s digit malfunction, and whether or not we can expect Britney Spears on her upcoming single “Girls Gone Wild.” Since stepping off the Super Bowl stage controversy has swirled due to Madonna’s guest performer M.I.A. raising a middle finger during the performance. Madonna confesses: “I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager…irrelevant thing to do…there was such a feeling of love and unity there, what was the point? It was just out of place.” (Skip to 7:20)

Why is Madonna being held accountable for the actions taken by a legally-recognized adult? Seems to me that if there are to be fees, fines and some dirt to be thrown, lil’ Miss M.I.A. should be the recipient of these.

The half time shows are boring. Madonna and the other talentless mattress-backs lip-synching to music that sounds like someone threw a full China cabinet down a flight of stairs.
yep.. this from the woman, who in order to make her money, simulated m*sturbation on a couch at her concerts in the 1990s, in front of countless 13 and 14 year old girls.
Now that she is and English noblewoman, she is so far above all that silliness.

MIA was a big supporter of the Tamil Tigers before the Sri Lankan military finished them off. Even though the Tigers were listed by about every country as a terrorist group at the time it didn’t hurt MIA’s popularity. Her father was also a Tiger. The Tigers are the folks that assasinated Rajiv Gandhi and engaged in numerous suicide bombings. The superbowl always has lackluster talent and has beens who try to drive attention to themselves. As a result, I skip the halftime show and go out to eat.
