Mitt Romney, asked if there were any lessons learned in the wake of losing all three Republican voting contests Tuesday night, said that he simply “wasn’t there to respond” to former Sen. Rick Santorum’s attacks in the days leading up to voting.
But today, speaking to reporters on a tarmac in Atlanta, where he flew from Colorado after losses in Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado Tuesday night, he did not hesitate to go on offense, accusing two chief GOP rivals of behaving “like Democrats.”

LOL! If anyone should know about acting like a Democrat, it’s Romney. This man simply does not know how to lose gracefully. I’ll never forget the night he lost SC to Newt, and the sullen petulance he displayed.
This is a significant insight into Mittney the man.
It’s all “attack” for him. Oh, he has a few neurons available for a positive message, but he is a remarkably unremarkable candidate with a diffuse message, but he is in the main simply an attack specialist.
If Rick can figure out a way to simply not engage with the relentless attacks...he wins. Because it shows how utterly ineffective Mittney is, and will be, and the proof will be consistently acted out in real time.

Out there away from urban areas, the people in the heartland need listen to no attacks on Romney by Santorum, their opinions and judgments are already formed. Rick Santorum says he is running as the conservative against Obama, and if incidentally he manages to look more conservative than Romney, well, that is the perception that Romney wants to maintain, not the one Santorum is trying to create.
THIS is what the GOP elite are gonna give us? Oh my holy hell. This is unbelievable.
Primary elections are the process by which political parties select their candidates.
It is not possible for ANY political Party to kick anyone out of that Party.
Third Party kooks seem ignorant on that point.
Nothing will stop Romney or some other bad candidate from running in what ever kook Party you decide to form.

The establishment GOP will never learn. They are deaf when it comes to their base. Bush 41 the moderate loses in 1992 after running for “Reagan’s third term”, Dole, Bush 43 (while winning twice did so first as a moderate and almost got beat in 2000 and in 2004 we were at war), and McCain...do they ever learn the squishy middle doesn’t work?
They made great strides in Congress from 1995-2003 then acted like the squishy middle and lost Congress in 2006 and more seats in 2008. The Tea Party gave them back close to 1,000 nationwide seats and the House and they still don’t get it.
So if they are successful in getting Romney the nomination and he loses (why vote for the same thing as Obama?) they still won’t learn.
They have to be removed from their seats as well. But that requires the idiots in Ohio to get rid of Boehner and KY to get rid of McConnell.
When the real Democrats and Marxists start attacking him from the LEFT, and any other direction, how is he going to respond? Whine about lack of fairness, pout, and assume a fetal position?
Somehow I don't think that will work in the general. He should be attacked now, from all directions so we can see if he has any effective responses before we get stuck with his sorry self as a candidate.

Your post is an excellent summary of why conservatives should quite trying to infuse fresh blood into the rotting carrion that is the GOP. This is not the time to pull the plug, but starting in January 2013 would be good.
The difference between Rick and Mittens is that Rick just stated the truth.
1) No real difference between Romneycare and Obamacare
2) To have your only defense be state vs. fed is a weak argument and won’t hold water.
3) CEO experience isn’t really relevant since the President doesn’t really ‘create’ jobs. The President is the Commander-in-Chief, there to make executive decisions and sign laws that create a favorable environment for jobs.
