"I've forgotten more about Ronald Reagan and/or Lloyd Bentsen than you've ever heard about."

Wow! Another non-material, non-compelling non-argument coming from a Paulbot. Not much meat on them bones, son.

If you're going to engage in debate, you better make sure you have something to argue with, because idiot liberal rhetorical gimmicks won't work around here. Conservative deal in facts, not personal attacks, innuendos, and presumptive superiority--we've all seen plenty of that from liberals and it doesn't work for them either. So far, all I've seen from you is bluster.

I guess I can't blame you, it's sort of difficult to hit what you're aiming at when you're shooting blanks.

I have to admit though, you're good at attacking your fellow conservatives (though I doubt you even know what a conservative is) when they disagree with you.

Perhaps when you grow up and get some degree of maturity, you will be able to think logically and actually construct a rational argument.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Really???

Mitt Romney is a viable alternative to the name dropping you just did???

Delusional???

It erally wasn’t much of a struggle for me to tell Romney to his face back in 2007 when he rolled through Houston on his “white” horse, expecting the red carpet to be rolled out for him as well...

I told him I cannot support him for President at that time because of his liberal tendencies and positional record...

Where the hell were you kemosabe??? What have YOU done for conservatism in the great state of Texas lately??? hmmmmmm???

Do you volunteer on campaigns, do you poll watch??? do you block walk??? Do you volunteer or run an election in your voting precinct??? I do all of that and then some for people I know for a fact are not RiNO’s...So you can take that poorly assembled assumption of your and shove it...

You seem to be fairly easy to compramise your “so-called” conservative principles for the sake and hope that Romney will defeat Obama in the general election...

Let me know how that suckers bet works out for ya...

You are like that biblical lesson about the glass of tepid water...You are neither hot, nor cold, so I spew you from my mouth...

I have no use for people who compramise their principles for causes like this...

To be honest, and as much as it pains me to say, I will do my best to weather another 4 years of Obama, than have to live under the false and feckless pretenses of a moderate/liberal like Romney who won’t do jack sh!t to correct the problems created by the current occu-pooper in the White House now...

Psssst, I’ll tell you a little secret...I had about 30 minutes with Romney that evening before the rest of the Executive committee filed in for our quarterly meeting that year...He’s a nice guy...But being a nice guy can only go so far with me, especially when you run for President...His wife is a charmer, and he needed to hear what I and a couple other folks wanted to say...In the hope he would figure out what he needed to make credible adjustments in his positions on issues...

Guess what...He didn’t change a thing...So guess what...

Well, you already know...I think yer a smart feller...

So before you go questioning my (and others) conservative credentials and record, I’d do a little more digging...I am not a hard person to find...

My advise, pay a little more attention this election cycle to the down ballot races...The Presidency is only one race in a slate of many we need to keep in our hands to neuter the next two years till we get to do it ALL over again...Notice I didn’t say 4 years...

I apologise for the tone in my response, but you threw down the gauntlet...Don’t think for a second I do not dare to not pick that up when questioned like that...

"Great. Now, you have lowered your principles so far that you'd be satisfied with a third Clinton term? Unbelievable."

No, you're projecting. I haven't lowered my standards in any way, I am merely acknowledging that Bill Clinton at his worst was better by far than Obama. I would rather have a third Bill Clinton term than Obama in office--better benign neglect than determined destruction.

The second term of Bush was no "disaster." It was disappointing, but he made the appointments of Roberts and Alito in his second term, as well as Janice Rogers Brown, Priscilla Owens and a whole slew of other conservative judges to the Courts of Appeal and district courts. He successfully pursued the Iraq War and the "Surge" which, in spite of all Democrats could do, succeeded. He also had the budget deficit headed down at a pace in excess of all estimates until Democrats took control of the budgeting process in FY2008.

Note that from 2004-2007 the budget deficit fell from $400 billion down to ~$150 billion. The first two years of his second term were far from a "disaster."

FY2008 was the first year Democrats controlled the budgeting process and that was when he really failed in his duty. His greatest failures were his refusal to defend himself in the public arena, his refusal to use the veto, and his foolish belief in and agreement with the TARP program. Not even close to being the disaster you wish to portray it as.

"Let him try and we'll have another mid-term in 2014 like we had in 2010."

Perhaps, perhaps not. Had Obama not been such a bumbling neophyte in his first two years, the damage might be far worse, however the willingness he has demonstrated so far to flaunt his contempt for our Constitution and the unwillingness of Republicans to oppose him when he does it has been breathtaking.

He just brazenly violated the Constitution both in word and in spirit when he appointed Cordray and the three NLRB members and not only has nothing come of it, but his popularity hasn't moved at all. He still commands a solid 45% of the voters.

The TEA party movement caught them all flat-footed last time. The press and the Dems were not prepared for that sort of reaction, that won't happen again. They will know what is coming and they will respond accordingly.

As the propaganda machine get cranked up in earnest this time, we may not see the level of voter reaction we did in 2010. We might just see an enthusiastic left instead of a dispirited left as we saw then.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have seen nothing coming out of Cantor, Boehner, Ryan, McConnell or both bodies of Congress (aside from a few standouts like Rubio, DeMint, and Rand Paul) which indicates even a willingness to confront this President with anything like resolve. So far they have caved on every issue and been out maneuvered at every turn. Not very promising for the future.

You guys really need to come out of that shell your living in and take a look around. There is no guarantee that what you want to happen will occur. We can predict a lot of what will come out of a Mitt presidency and it will never come close to the Van Jones, Valerie Jarrett, Robert Cordray, Obama White House in a second term. That you cant' or won't acknowledge what Obama is capable of is sad, because it will happen if he wins a second term.

There's a difference between compromising one's conservative principles, which I have never done and understanding reality. I hope Newt or Santorum can defeat Romney and/or they can at least win enough delegates to get us to a brokered convention, but I do not believe that is going to happen.

Should that be the case, I am wise enough to do what Reagan did back in 1976 and suck up my pride and support the Republican ticket, because (in my opinion and that of a great many others) an Obama second term will be a nightmare unrivaled in the last 60 years--perhaps worse even that FDR's socialist revolution.

We can't be certain what sort of judges a President Romney will appoint, but I know for certain the sort of anti-constitutional, activist judges and justices he already has appointed--that alone is enough to give me pause. There is no guarantee that the next justice on the SCOTUS who retires or gets ill will be another liberal, we may very easily face the prospect of one of the conservative stalwarts being replace by another Sotomayor or Kagan. I don't know about you, but that gives me the willies.

I lived through the Warren court and I don't wish to go back there. I believe it would mean the end of our liberties--certainly the 2nd Amendment would fall almost immediately. Roe would be even further codified and there's no telling how much more influence over out justice system "international law" would gain. Subject to the world court? Very possibly. The loss of independent justice to world opinion? Also very possible.

Those of you who believe that a Romney presidency could be nearly as bad as an Obama 2nd term should think real hard about the unintended consequences of this "devil you know" before you ignore them.

Yes, Romney bad, but Obama tragic.

What? You have no idea who I am and I have no idea who you are. Also, I have no idea why your addressing me in this manner.

I would only recommend that you buy a clue and go bother somebody else.

A growing conservative majority in Congress with Obama in the White House is a lot more likely to achieve something conservative than a shrinking Republican minority with Romney in it.

Bump. Liberal Republicans always do the most damage, because they ratify and validate whatever the 'Ratscum Progs have necromanced into being during their term of office.

Bob Taft's defeat at the 1952 convention by the rich "Me Too" Republicans who recruited Eisenhower (their spawn pulled the same stunt in California, getting Arnold Schwarzenegger to step up, in order to frustrate the conservatives who'd actually beaten Gray Davis) was a seminal disaster for the country.

We needed to be pitching out big chunks of FDR's poisoned meat, but Eisenhower and the "business as usual" wing of the GOP never touched a stick of FDR's legacy -- allowing liberal MediaLiars to pretend that it was now "the national consensus" that America should be a welfarist crack-ho's dream.

There’s a difference between compromising one’s conservative principles, which I have never done and understanding reality.

(Saying it here and proving that are two entirely different things...And seeing what your history is on the issue at hand, I don’t believe you for one second!!!)

I hope Newt or Santorum can defeat Romney and/or they can at least win enough delegates to get us to a brokered convention, but I do not believe that is going to happen.

(Again, bullbutter!!!)

Should that be the case, I am wise enough to do what Reagan did back in 1976 and suck up my pride and support the Republican ticket, because (in my opinion and that of a great many others) an Obama second term will be a nightmare unrivaled in the last 60 years—perhaps worse even that FDR’s socialist revolution.

(We finally agree, you are a suck up...But you go right ahead and do all the hoping and changing you wanna do this election cycle...ME??? I’d rather fight the good fight from my more conservative position(s) than suck it up and just go with the flow and Romney...I believe a Republican Party majority in the house and Senate can hold off a lot of the nonsense we know is going to be tried by Obama for 4 years...And like I’ve said many times before, those Republicans are on borrowed time...If they suck up like you would have them do, then they can certainly be fired in two years...It’ll be like one big happy party in 2014...I look forward to seeing how this goes...)

As for you, I see no sign of intellectual or emotional maturity in your posts, nor in your FR about me page.

"Which superhero are you?" Really??? LOL!!! No wonder you post as you do.

As to your alleged conservatism. No one who claims to be any sort of real conservative could possibly countenance a second term of President Obama unless he was nuts and hoped for some sort of revolution as some of the Lew Rockwell loonies fantasize, or he was simply addicted to the schadenfreud of watching his nation go down the path to Marxism.

I find your claim to be conservative simply not credible. I must assume that your idea of conservatism is along the lines of that held by David Brooks--heck, I bet you were even mesmerized by Obama's pants crease.

47% pay no federal income taxes. Of the remaining, 10%+ are unionistas, Add in the remainder of 95% of blacks and Jews not in the first categories, and all the liberal white guilt idiots, and yeah, as a nation we are stupid enough to elect this douche bag again. I bet reparations will be explicit this time, as opposed to all the implicit reparations since Johnson.

Wow, ain’t you just the sleuth of all sleuths...Yer a regular Woodward and Bernstein I bet...

I used to come to FR for a little fun and conversation with people of a conservative bent...then I discovered several people, like yourself, who believe they are a legend in their own mind...And people like you tend to assume way too much about people, then attack, as if you are the quintessential political intellectual...You go right ahead and vote for a liberal this November...Why should I even attempt to disuade you from doing that...

I didn’t know Barrack (yer buddy) creased his pants...I try not to notice things like that in any man’s wardrobe...But then again, I’m not going to judge or assume anything about you, I don’t already know...

I, and many others, will always remember FReeper “Sudetenland” as a liberal-progressive/RiNO “elitist” enabler, who could not fight his way out of a paperbag because of his elementary political cowardice...

Besides, your FReeper “about me” page, is about as exciting as watching cars rust...Glad I didn’t have to waste that much time affirming your cowardice...

Ohhhh, and you talk a lot about dodging questions to you...YOU have still not answered a single thing from #162...

Using the word “alleged” is a liberal media tactic, something that comes very easy to you...

I do not have to insinuate anything concerning your “credentials”...Conservative or otherwise...

My acceptance of a second term of Obama has nothing to do with where my support for that office stands...It has to do with the reality that people like you would not accept anyone else other than what the Republican party leadership and country-clubbing elitists tell you to support...

Because if you fall for their logic that it is Mitt’s turn...

Yer dumber than a bag of hammers, and I knew there would be people like you around to prove themselves as political cowards from the start...

Now, before you try to get your panties in (or out of) a wad...Please do some of that outstanding sleuthin’ to deduce “truthfully” (he, I shudder to use the term) determine the true nature of my support for what candidate, that is left in the GOP lineup, that I might remotely vote for in this ONE race in November...

If you say Ron Paul, it will confirm what we already know about you...If you do not research this question, it proves it again...

Hint: this goes ALLLLLLLL the way back to the previous general election...Let’s see if you have the tenacity and attention span greater than a gnat to figure this out...

I have my doubts, but I feel lucky...I won the football pool last night...

I believe you will crawfish out of these challenges for whatever reason, and prove the greatest thing about you...And that is you are a wannabee politico, and a coward...

This should be fun...

All your moronic rant tells me is that you are a crypto Obama-lover--Larry Sinclair, is that you?

Clearly you would rather have him as President than dare to vote Republican . . . unless you can have your infantile way. You're like the classic spoiled brat and the furthest thing from a true conservative there is.

Get out of your mother's basement and go see the real world--or at least go change your underwear once and a while.

If you don't like the word "alledged," then try faux, or fake, or immitation, or perhaps just closet liberal--any of them would suit you.

You can't fool me, I know many conservatives, I am a conservative, and you are no conservative, because no real conservative could countenance in any way the reelection of Obama by granting him his tacit approval.

As I said, you post more like a Paulbot in drag--which I believe you to be.
