Romney Courts Bachmann For Endorsement
The Boston Globe ^ | 2/1/2012 | Glen Johnson

TAMPA, Fla. - Mitt Romney is carrying a full head of steam after winning the Florida primary, but the Republican presidential contender isn’t headed first today for Nevada or Maine, the next two states to vote.

Instead, he is jetting off this morning to Minnesota for what is billed as a “grassroots rally.”

Why?

Michele Bachmann, it seems.

Apologies for mis-information - I went and checked after posting ((((((blush))))).

Fostered - not adopted;(

Most of us noted her bashing Perry but not Romney - also her debate coach went over to Romney’s campaign and it shows.

Glenn Beck has just reported (10:35 AM EST) on his nationally syndicated radio program that Michele Bachmann has endorsed Mitt Romney.

*** IF *** this is true, Michele Bachmann is an outright FRAUD.

Time for Bachmann to review Genesis.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, 'Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every Republican tree of the garden?'

And the woman said unto the serpent, 'We may eat the fruit of the conservative trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the RINO tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.'

And the serpent said unto the woman, 'Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing both Republican and Democrat bipartisanship.'

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for campaign cash, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof.

Michelle, Don't be beguiled by the serpent!

Someone pointed out that Romney hired her former debate coach, which seemed to be pretty effective. Hope Mitt’s paying him a 1% salary ;-)

I think the deal was made long ago, before she started to attack Newt ans Rick Perry. I think it is possible that a deal has also been made for Paul to STAY in the race for the nomination and NOT run as a third party candidate and for Romney to select Rand Paul as his VEEP. If you notice Ron Paul and his PAC spent money on attack ads against Newt when Newt was running behind Paul in Iowa. There is one posted now on the homepage of the Mississippi Tea party site, it was posted by a member and not paid for, you do need to scroll down to get to it. I think they will use Rand Paul because for VEEP picks it would make sense, Kentucky is far enough South, ans it is perceived by most that he has Conservative and Tea Party support. Especially after the LIE that Rand Paul used to get on Hannity’s radio show to take an opportunity to attack Newt I now belive that the three of them, Mitt, Ron and Rand are unprincipled and slimey enough to do this. I do think Conservatives and Tea Party members for the most part, and especially FReepers, would see through this but it would be too late.

It is amazing how a person sticks to what they say, she backed out of the race, is not siphoning off votes and the insults still don’t stop.

No wonder Santorum doesn’t care and stays in, he will still get trashed if he backs out. LOL

I can’t see why everyone has to get torn to shreads all the time. One you trash all those who mostly agree with you, there will be nobody left on your side.

Maybe she will get cash and a promise for a Cabinet position?

Wouldn’t she love to have Hillary’s job?? LOL

This is all so sickening!!

My vow to stay off political primary threads seems to have lasted 12 hours.

Just wanted to say that I saw Ed Rollins on Fox this morning and he seems to think that Newt is running an amateurish campaign without a professional staff.

He said Newt’s daughter is writing most of his speeches.

If so, I think she’s doing a pretty good job.

If I were advising him, I would suggest that he stay down to earth (forget the moon talk for awhile - we’ve got problems down here).

Stop talking about his plan to exempt grannies from being deported. Grannies won’t be deported anyway and having some kind of panel assess each illegal for nebulous things like longevity here, etc. would be an enormous boondoggle.

Stop rising to Romney’s bait and emphasize the positives you would bring to the office.

Try not to go off the reservation. I personally think most people are a little afraid that Newt is unstable, personally and politically.

I’m not one of them but there is that perception.

No apologies needed.

I didn't intend to be "correcting" you...only that the Bachmann's were paid to keep those kids.

Cheers!

She just got off FOX with martha McCallum and said she is not endorsing Romney. She isn’t meeting with them and she is in DC doing her job.

For Petes sake, I watched her say it.

Well, I call GB BS! I saw her interview just a short while ago on FOX News, and she did no such thing, although, like someone else said up-thread, she should have condemned Romney’s scorched earth style of campaigning. She did indicate that she is all for the different factions coming together in the party so as to defeat Obama - it seems that from her perspective, that’s the most important thing. But she did not endorse Romney, unless she’s done so within the past 35-40 minutes, which would have been the fastest about-face anyone’s ever done in politics.

I totally agree with you about Cain.

His endorsement meant squat. He’s in it for himself.

And I will NEVER forgive him for his unwarranted attacks on Governor Perry.

Yep, the enemies list has grown many times longer than the friends list. Its no longer safe to disagree without becoming an enemy. I happen to support Santorum but I'm not going to write you off as an enemy. We just disagree and its no big deal.

Anyone who EVER endorses mitt is a fraud. Period. Mitt is pro-abortion and romneybama care. No conservative would EVER vote for this guy.

This is exactly why I made the vow to stay off political threads.

I discovered there are a few things you can’t say.

One, you can’t rise to Santorum’s defense. He’s not my candidate but I think he has the right to run and he’s got a lot of sincere supporters.

Two, you cannot say you will vote for the Republican candidate, whoever it turns out to be. This will get you virtually stoned, tarred and feathered, or some equally dire fate.

The mass hysteria on the Florida primary thread last night was beyond scary.

I’m sticking to the doggie ping list for the most part.

Ok fine, but at the decision point, if you keep straddling the fence, you lose all credibility, especially when you have put yourself out there as a presidential candidate and withdrawn, proclaimed yourself to be the leader of the “tea-party caucus”, and the number one issue you claim is repeal of Obamneycare.

It is time for Bachmann to take a stand now.
