Gingrich: GOP Race "Probably Six Months" From Ending

ORLANDO, Florida - Newt Gingrich's campaign announced Tuesday it raised $5 million dollars in January on top of the $10 million raised last quarter, however aides would not indicate how much cash the campaign has on hand -- a critical number for determining whether they can make it through the summer as the former speaker has pledged to do.

This weekend the candidate told Bloomberg News that his campaign was down to approximately $600,000 cash on hand and spending money as quickly as they get it. Since then spokesman R.C. Hammond has said the candidate misspoke and the $600,000 was referring to the amount the campaign had entering the South Carolina primary and they have since raised $2.5 million in money bombs.

However, when pressed, Hammond was unwilling to give a figure for how much cash they have right now.

Gingrich dropped by a polling station at First Baptist Church of Windermere for his first stop on primary day, shaking hands with voters and swarmed by cameras. Mitt Romney has taken a double digit lead in polls leading up to Tuesday but Gingrich told reporter he didn't expect to "lose big" here.

When Newt is on message,
He can’t be beat.
When he pouts and whines,
Voters turn and retreat.

Message, not money
The lesson is clear.
Will Newt remember?
That is not clear - - - -

A cultural Catholic is merely an agnostic without balls.

Religion and ethnicity are meaningless in the 21st century US unless you are an unassimilated fool. A huge portion of our ancestral homeland is secular, hence the fact that it has an atheist president and the Church has had difficulty attracting men for a very long time. Italy ain't the Phillipines when it comes to Catholicism, and my Italian grandfather himself was an anti-clerical agnostic. 100 years ago, the Irish hierarchy was shocked at the lack of devotedness amongst Italian immigrants (especially the men) as compared to the Poles, Germans, etc.

I am a 21st century educated white American. I can choose to believe or NOT believe what I want. The fact is that our founders were no fans of the RCC due to its hostility to our founding principles. See my attenuated tag line as a case in point.

It will be sweet hilarity when Newt is nominated and Moderates will have to abandon their Romney fantasies. Then they will be urged to "get behind nominee!"

“The presidency is a dream come true for the LDS. And the LDS is RICH!!!”

I do know that a president Mitt would be a huge boon to Mormon evangelism. “Knock, knock. Hello Madam. We are Mormons, just like President Romney. Would you like to hear more about the exciting faith that helped Mitt make his $250 million and go onto become president?”

A friend was saying that the Mormons are a hierarchical church and that there are two levels above Mitt who basically can tell him to do anything and he is obliged as an underling. Is that true?

Okie dokie...

I was just commenting on your post regarding Gingrich.

I'm not sure what your motivation was in attacking his Faith, but please don't think I have an issue with your belief system. It really doesn't concern me.

Have a good evening my FRiend...

No one even mentions my choice Rick Santorum. Sigh...I do not like Newt’s whiny arrogance. There’s a reason he didn’t win vs Mitt and some of it has to do with his inability to raise enough money to fight. He also has a poorly organized team of advisors, JMO. I can’t warm up to him, sorry but I just can’t.

It will be interesting to see what the rest of the nation thinks so don’t bite my head off because I don’t agree with everyone’s love of Newt.

I hope that all of us will vote for the GOPer left standing in November, whoever it is. We have to eject the chimp in chief...anyone but obammmie!

All the states are experiments for the various GOP wannabes. It’s true, Newt hardly spent squat in Florida, while Mitt bought tons of sh*t, all aimed at Newt. That wasn’t true in South Carolina. But can Mitt buy that kind of sh*t in every state? Even across most of the South? Color me deeply skeptical. Especially when he tries to do it in Texas.

To the mormon church, that’s milk money.

Where was all this milk money in 2008, when he conceded the candidacy to John McCain, who is a weak Episcopalian?

Dress rehearsal for name recognition down the road, the requirement of a government in constitutional crisis had not been fulfilled...see “White Horse Prophecy”. He’s getting lds funding in buckets now.

Well, THAT'S interesting.

I went to search for an article I'd read a few days ago on mormon contributions to Romney's campaign...

It appears ALL references to Romney's mormon money connections in this campaign have been thoroughly scrubbed. I even found references to contributions to his 2008 campaign from lds sources, but articles that I googled days ago on his current campaign contributions, Google no longer lists.

Look for yourself. You can't even find any links to people speculating on the subject. All gone.

What everybody is missing is the fact that Mormonism is a theocracy (just like a certain other false “religion” - remember, Joseph Smith referred to himself as a second Mohammed).

A theocracy is a system where the religious power and the civil power are one and the same and where the state is run by the clergy and religious law is applied. That certainly describes Mormonism, which would be even more overtly theocratic had it not been forced to back off and accept US law in order for Utah to become a state.

The last thing we need is another person in the White House or even on the campaign trial who doesn’t accept US law and believes that he is divinely ordained to “rule over” us.

Hmm. If this is the mischief fueling the sh*tstorm at Newt, then Newt needs to recognize that and point it out publicly. Newt is about the only guy who could do it brutally enough and brazenly enough to matter. Only question is will he.

Let the right horn of the bull follow the money trail. Let the left horn of the bull probe mormon beliefs on racism and ask Rom some embarassing questions. Then let the weight of the journalism bull fall on some of the other beliefs of the cult and connect the dots for the people who make it to section "b" of the paper. You can't open the duel with shouts of conspiracy...just bring the mormon money and the race issue together with a few more threads so the average joe goes "what the f" and gets mad at us because we don't get it...THAT'Sthe guy who's going to educate his neighbors about this stuff. Gingrich can remain on point and above it all poised and reminding people of his views on equality and religious freedom..his hands are clean. Journalist/Activists are what is needed. Of course, this is old hat or the libs, we need to play the game now. My humble noobie O.

Sorry but if whiner Newt can’t take Mitt outspending him, how will he take obambro outspending him? It looks to me like Newt was ill-prepared to run a decent campaign. He’s poorly organized and the fact that he spoke only to a group of REPORTERS over speaking to his SUPPORTERS in NV speaks volumes about how badly mangled his campaign truly is.
