What a waste of time (it was a 16 minute segment). I agree with your assessment. Siegel is a retired COL. St.John and the host (Maureen something) had those phony British uppity accents that seem to plague PBS. It’s like finger nails on a chalkboard listening to them. McGirk blamed the story of Haditha for the Iraqi’s hating us and throwing us out of Iraq. Either he was trying to take credit or doesn’t remember that he wrote the story. He sounded to me like he was on drugs. Maybe he’s a queer crackhead.
Had this troll (vetposter) done any research he’d know something about this case!

I agree, the prosecution was going to get some number of pounds of flesh, they are getting the least possible. 6 years for this, what a waste of time and assets.

I listened to the segment, as well. Hmmmmm, Jane Siegel was clueless about SSgt Wuterich’s particular circumstances.....thought he’d been incarcerated all this time. Siegel, if I remember, defended one of the Hamdania 8 (or Pendleton 8), I think Jodka.
There’s a reason Tim McGirk didn’t vist the Haditha Damn when he was offered the opportunity after he published his article. He would have fainted at the machismo all around him. I am surprised/impressed he survived in Iraq given the way he sounds on audio.
That turkey posted on the one week report thread, it was post #13 which is now gone and I can’t remember what was posted by him but here’s my reply to him then:

Yes, Siegel seemed to be claiming that Wuterich has been incarcerated at Leavenworth for 6 years, although she also said he did time in the Pendleton brig. It was weird. Still, she mostly defended Wuterich even if very clumsily.
