“I see Ron Paul signs, too many for my comfort.”
Many underestimate his organization and the passion of his supporters.
Romney will fare worse in FL than he did in SC. Let him spend the money. The more negative he goes the more it drives people to Newt.
This demonstrates the futility of the myth that money wins elections. Sure, it does up to a point, but it can reach a point of diminishing returns.
If he were alive and eligible, how much money do you think it would take for Hitler* to win the presidency of the US?
*I truly love violating godwin’s law with impunity. ;)
Up here in the Panhandle, I have been getting daily Romney robocalls for almost a week. I haven’t gotten robocalls for any other candidate. I haven’t seen any mailings from any candidate. Maybe my better half has been throwing them away without bringing them into the house.
I am only seeing a few signs each for Paul and Romney. Yesterday I saw a couple of Newt signs for the first time.
But I don’t expect the candidates to spend very much money here - they will spend it in the south and central cities where most of the population is.
Ha ha—sounds like you’re having the same experience I had with Linda McMahon’s senatorial run here in CT in 2010.
I have a feeling Mitt will be about as close to the White House in 2013 as Linda found herself to Capital Hill in 2011.
Parts of Michigan are idyllic, and Michiganders are for the most part very nice people. Just sayin’.
:-)
He’s spending money left and right thinking he can buy his way into the presidency.

Jon Corzine used that strategy to buy Senate and Governor jobs here in NJ. Unfortunately money talks and he stole enough back to make it worth his while.
We will see if technique trumps money. Sounds like Newt is ready to speak on FOX shortly.
Romney does not let go of the Lobbyist charge....Never-mind that a lobbyist must be registered and he is not
Also hitting on the resigned in disgrace charge.
But I utterly reject his politics; where I find him to be an opportunist with a core that resembles the most liberal of Democrats on many issues that are important to me. He's a gun grabber, and he believes that government is a source of solution for many social ills that are effectively impossible for any government to resolve. You'd think the war on poverty would be won after 50 years.
As far as your wish that he waste all of his money, I share it. Inability to influence the electorate via the usual means (endorsements of MSM, endorsements of celebrity politicians) is a sign of "good things," in particular an electorate that harbors distrust of the MSM and celebrity politicians.
years? If so, those RNC pricks probably gave Romney your address.”
The prick in question might be McCain. I donated a LOT to that campaign, in hopes that McCain/Palin would win and that the Lord would see fit to promote McCain to heaven in short order. THAT didn’t happen, but RNC crap came in, and later Romney stuff. Also donated to Bachmann and O’Donnell. Also registered as a Republican. ANY of those could be vectors but my bet is the McCain contributions. I’ve never sent the RNC a dime in the past twenty years.
Not to jump on TwoSwords’ issue but the same thing is happening to me.
There's no postage for return to sender, as there is for first class mail. So, either the postman leaves them there, or he trashes them.
“Just an idea...Keep them all. Every day take a picture of the ever growing pile. Post that pic on a thread here. It would make great Opposition PR to mock him with.”
Oooh, I -LIKE- the way you think! That way Romney pays for his own erosion. Excellent!
Enjoy the junk mail while it lasts, leading up to caucus night we were getting at least 6 - 10 telephone calls every day. At least the junk mail doesn't ring...
Here in SC’s Upstate, I asked the mail lady if all the junk mail made her mad. She said “No, it’s helping keep me employed.” I asked if she was therefore going to vote for Romney or Paul. She replied “—— NO!, I need the job but I’m not stupid!”
My opinion is that the Romney-bot SC Robo-calls hurt him measurably and probably did not deliver a single voter for him. Shhhhh...don’t tell him, though.
Paul’s supporters in SC did what they’ve done in past elections. Same ol’ same ol’. Means very little; not to worry.
Had to take my landline off the hook at bedtime ‘til breakfast and it remained off-the-hook for most of last week. Still had my cellphones which seemed to be immune.
We will see if technique trumps money. Sounds like Newt is ready to speak on FOX shortly.

“Romney will fare worse in FL than he did in SC.”
That would be a joy! What do you base this on, however? I figured a state which would elect Charlie Crist as governor would be susceptible to Romney.
NBC = Brian Williams
Watch for the LIVE thread. I think it starts at 8:00PM Eastern.
I’ve never donated to the RNC. Was never able to donate to anyone. Now that I’m able they’ve made a enemy of me.
time for a little fun.... take the pre paid envelope for your donation. Then fold, staple and stuff the envelope with all the other garbage you got from him and drop it in the mailbox.... since it will be oversize and overweight, the mitt campaign will be charged to have it delivered... he gets his garbage back, plus pays extra for the priviledge of having returned to him, plus he pays his staffers to open and discard...
I too live in the Panhandle. I think I have gotten one mailer but am not even certain of that.
Now the robocalls are another matter. Getting them regularly. Also noticed that the Panama City TV stations are running a huge amount of Romney ads. Haven’t seen an ad for any other candidate.
