Yep, you were right and I was wrong about a high-cap mag ban coming out of the Giffords shooting. Other than losing the bet, this is a solid indication that even with such high-profile shootings, the gun grabboids in congress don't have the juice to push through serious legislation hindering our RKBA. For now.
Maybe it would take a stadium sniper, and mass casualties, after all.
I wouldn't put it past the Obama/Holder team, if they thought they could get away with it. They didn't mind 100s of Mexicans and a few U.S. federal agents being killed by Fast and Furious weapons gunwalked into Mexico.

All they gotta do is have more votes counted for them than for Gingrich (what it's lookin like now, anyway) and in their next term they'll do it by executive order, using Ms. Giffords and her husband as props.

The new battleground is technology. They will soon be able to see everything everywhere...from the sky! They will soon have control of all elements of the economy from bank accounts to credit cards to loans to every conceivable transaction. SOPA/PIPA is as big a deal or bigger than any gun law ever considered by any tyrant anywhere. A high cap mag is not going to be enough to keep your freedom. Not even close.
