ISLAMIST fanatics have paid £3,000 to help Abu Hamza’s fight against being sent to the US on terror charges.

His supporters forked out for the hook-handed hate cleric, who appealed for cash so he could undergo an independent health review as part of his defence bid.

The Muslim radicals raised the sum in less than 24 hours.

Hamza’s pal Abdul Muhid said: “The money was raised for costs incurred as a result of his upcoming case in the European Court.

“He needs the money to pay for a doctor’s assessment of his health.”

Hamza, 53, is serving seven years in Belmarsh Prison, south London, for stirring up racial hatred.

Asked if Hamza was looking to claim he was in poor health, Muhid, who has served time in jail for inciting murder and terrorism, added: “That should be a factor.

“We do send him money – we send all Muslim prisoners money.”

Muhid also outlined an alleged campaign of “dirty tricks” against Hamza by jail bosses.

He said: “They keep making him move from one cell to another.

“That normally happens for Category A prisoners once every three months.”

Hamza’s lawyer Gareth Peirce did not return a call for comment.

His case was boosted last week when the European Court of Human Rights decided his former mentor Abu Qatada could not be deported from Britain to his native Jordan to face terror charges.

“We do send him money – we send all Muslim prisoners money.”

That's called Zakat. Ask barry about it.

This is actually funny that he was only able to raise this small amount. He spent a lot of time in England bringing over lots and lots of extended family, and insuring that each and every one of them got every possible bit of welfare they could get, which was a lot, as a lot of it is redundant.

So even though all his kin got millions of pounds in benefits, now that the old man is in the dock, they only cough up petty cash for him.
