Amen, Miss Marple. God Bless America.
We’ll miss you.
I’ve tried to take sabbaticals from free republic when things got a little vicious here, but the longest one lasted 3 days.
It’s an addiction, but better than meth amphetimine, I guess.
Drop in when you can, and have a wonderful time in England. I’ve always wanted to go there ... and I speak the language... sort of.
Looks like Newt did pretty good with the indy vote last night.
Christina van den Wacko is all enthralled about the occupiers. Evidently, they are her kind of America. She's a bad trip now on ABC,
Not sure where to find that..if you can, I can paste it to the list of endorsements.
I don’t think Perry would take veep. I’ve heard him disparage it and he has a good job already in politics.
There is a possibility (in my mind) that he would take a high cabinet post if he thought he could be effective.
I think it was Mark Steyn that said it best about who ran Detroit and who ran Michigan. Looks like people getting what they voted for.
Interesting.
Brit and most other FNS types have spent the last 2 days badmouthing Newt. Hard left turn and losing my viewership rapidly. Who can we turn to for “fair/balanced”?
Trip the best candidate.
Newt can and will recover many of the naysayers.
Since Mitt is 0-light he is our only hope!
Once again Christina van den gargle says that we don't need oil for the oil companies to benefit from but green energy.
These people have no concept of reality at all only Marxist theology.
Dear Lord, Joe Scarborough.
The man’s hatred of Newt is visceral.
Waving her arms and screaming a fit.
But her fury was reversed,
With an appliance from her purse
While it buzzed, she was moaning: "Oh, Mitt...!"
Well...that’s starting to change now that WE voted those people out of office....but the trough dwellers are all here and will turn out in mass again in November...just hoping there are more of WE then them!!
I can’t stand what Ann Coulter has become. She lived with a Muslim, got heckled on some campuses, and has definately gone over to the dark side (where she thinks comfort lies).
I think its a lot simpler than that. Ann has always been an attack dog...lots of hyperbole.
If she’s your attack dog, she’s the best.
If she’s attacking you, she’s a b*tch.
That doesn’t mean that I don’t agree or disagree with her on political matters..I just know what she really is and take that into consideration.
She’s wrong on ROmney, but she’s still the same nasty Ann.
Newt to Gregory: “It’s not that Obama is a bad person, it’s my understanding that he’s really a nice guy in many ways” (paraphrasing)
Well, except fo being an anti-Smerican, thieving Marxist, baby-killing, packer.
Thanks, just really figured out what the Delphi Method was, and when applying it to legislation being passed such as a health care fix; say that yes every one agrees there is a problem, but the conclusion they are supposed to reach is that the Affordable Health Care bill was the right solution, and any other solution was discarded and maligned as being from someone who didn’t want people to get medical attention at all.
Dr Dean Edel said it best (paraphrased) ‘if you want the best health care, it is going to be expensive’, that observation alone would omit affordable as being the best option.
“Theyre getting oil now out of Bakken in North Dakota and Montana.”
For a totally idiotic view of this see-
Based on the high unfavs and the also high vote percentage, SC voters agree. I suspect, given our current situation, that a whole lot of Americans share that view.
I heard that exchange and like you, it gave me pause.
BUT...lookit, you really can’t have our guys trashing the lawfully elected president too awful much. There’s got to be a mid-ground between McCain praising him God almighty and calling him a nasty b*st*rd.
Newt called him a man who governs against everything America was founded on. That was good enough. I daresay most Americans...yay even the precious Independents, agree on.
Just an observation: A couple of times during past debates, Santorum became animated and passionate, and he received audience support. His problem seems to be the rest of the time he does not seem to fire up potential supporters in the base.
JOe left the world of conservatism to enter the gates of hell. He just hasn't figured it out yet.
http://projects.wsj.com/campaign2012/delegates....Thanks to A.Hun. The answer to my first question is Romney 33 and Gingrich 25.
EVERYTHING!!
Ann is a pair of boobs and a pair of legs with no brain. No I would NOT kick her out!
DNC Dave is so beat up he's probably in the occupy line for unemployment along with John King. Both licking their wounds and hoping they never see Newt again.
You’re welcome. I found that this morning early..looks like a good site for future reference.
You really hit on something.
I’m hoping you are right.I’m also hoping that given just how destructive obama has been as a supposed leader that anyone with any brain cells left at all who gets near a voting machine and has the choice between any of our candidates and zero will make the right choice.Everything is at stake.
So at least she is good for something.Even if its recreational.
I, like others on FR, was shocked by Britt Hume last night! I’ve always enjoyed him and thought him to be fair and he definitely disappointed me last night. If he was going to quote the poll #s about favorability/unfavorability it would have been nice if he had cited the poll and what day it was taken. When I heard the results he quoted and heard the exit poll results of the SC voters it made me think he was quoting an older poll (probably one taken prior to last Monday). In addition, w/o knowing who took/released the poll and who they polled (e.g., likely voters, registered voters, % of Dims,Pubs, Indies) I’m taking it w a grain of salt right now.
I’m sure the elites on both sides of the aisle & media elites will do everything they can to spout the talking points given to them to talk about how awful, mean & unelectable Newt is hoping to drive public opinion down more. Obviously, some folks will fall for it, but if Newt keeps on campaigning and debating like he has been, I think he’ll do fine. Plus, let’s face it, many folks are sick and tired of the elites in DC and the media and the Bamster and aren’t buying what they keep trying to sell us (e.g., push down our throats). We’re sick of the lies and Newt seems to be telling us the truth (refreshing!). I guess only time will tell (with all of us Tebowing through at least mid-Nov). While this is probably the most important election of our lifetimes, it’s probably going to be one of the nastiest and fraud-ridden ones as well.
I linked to Will’s discussion of ‘Romneyness’ above. Here’s another similar article from Byron York (I like him and thought this was a good article) about Romney’s not having the ability to connect with people and Newt’s ability to do so, even though Romney seems to stage ‘perfect’ events & Newt not so much. Newt listens & connects and has great answers.
Why Gingrich won — Why Romney lost
Byron York - Washington Examiner
COLUMBIA, SC — They won’t say it publicly — they don’t want to appear churlish or disrespectful on a night they took a serious beating — but it’s no exaggeration to say that even after losing the South Carolina primary to Newt Gingrich, members of Mitt Romney’s circle find it absurd — almost crazy — that the former House speaker has even a ghost of a chance of becoming the Republican Party’s presidential nominee.
Just a few days ago, many commentators were suggesting that Romney was likely to win South Carolina, and when he did, the GOP nomination would be his. Now Romney has been soundly rejected in the first primary in the South, the rock-solid base of the Republican Party. What happens next, in Florida, is unclear.
big snip>
Gingrich’s success here in South Carolina shows more than just a skepticism toward establishment Republicanism. It also shows a hunger for real substance in the campaign, for a candidate who will talk to voters and give them more than phrases like “I believe in America.” Mitt Romney’s team of seasoned campaign professionals may not think Newt Gingrich has any business playing a deciding role in the race. But they better believe it, and they better take seriously what the Gingrich challenge represents — before it’s too late.

Delegate count notwithstanding (and JMHO), the BIGGEST losers in last night’s voting were the media. Including some of those who’ve packaged themselves as Conservative...
....judging by Coulter’s reaction, they’re just coming to that realization.
Pretty hard to sell anything after you’ve told your customers that you consider them your enemy.
Which is Romney's problem in a nutshell. After 2008 a great number of Americans have woken up to the fact the political establishment, of both parties, is their enemy.
Elemental liquid Mercury is pretty stable unless you heat it and form a vapor. It doesn't go around attacking other compounds and reacting with them (unlike Chlorine).
If you allow an acid to act on it, or something, then it becomes toxic.
The whole ban on mercury thermostats, switches, mirrors, thermometers etc is just another big hoax.
The highly toxic fluorescent bulb is whole different matter.
Not sure Romney can win in the south. People are missing how much people dislike Obama and the Democrat controlled news media.
That means the Democrat Media has a less favorable rating than the Congress.
Thanks! God sometimes enlightens me; If your the media (subordinate facilitator) and follow the lead, you get Republicans like Maverick McCain and Lindsey Graham to manipulate the discussion in the desired direction, then use some Democrats to isolating and demean opposing viewpoints. Those who are running the shows compile the final agenda for discussion.
Great analysis SC. Newt now on with pathetic Candy on CNN getting in line for her spanking.Newt seems to go easy on her realizing that low IQ talking heads should be given at lest a little slack.
The media suffer from groupthink. They all tend to process information and events through the same prism much the same way as doctors treat backaches according to their specialties. Surgeons want to operate, chiropractors want to twist, pull and push, while naturalists want to give you herbal tea and a massage.
This is the Democrat Media who got Obama elected. This is the Democrat Media who never asks Obama the important questions because they do not want to be blamed for an Obama defeat in November.
Good point.
Those season campaign workers are often political science majors who graduated from liberal colleges where they were taught the GOP place in the political arena. Not how to think only what to think. Newt knows how to think.
Another thought I had was in Newt having to explain his Saul Alinsky comparison and how he would do that, but I’m sure when Newt says it, it’ll be like Limbaugh, the final word.
Any bump Zero gets will be because of the media, created by the media out of whole cloth. There is nothing substantial left for Zero to get a bump out of, unless he stands up and repudiates everything he and democrats have done to date, and promises to start dismantleing what dems have worked to build up to now.
and he will be difficult to defeat. You will hear that mantra until after the third or fourth recount, unless it is a total blow out, in which case, we will be angry white males clinging to our guns and bibles.
Newt has the guts to say what we are all thinking. Obama is bad for the country and the Democrat Media is corrupt.
Thanks, now that I no longer afford myself satellite local channels CNN is the only show I can watch in real time, and I probably wouldn’t bother with it if Newt wasn’t on.
Ted Olsen comes to mind. Once a good conservative, was solicitor genersl, married to Barbare who went down on 9/11, and then he married a leftie, and he now acts like a neutered tomcat.
This basically consists of injecting anhydrous ammonia at the well head and then spraying it into the air over the monoculture corn crop....millions of gallons every day throughout the growing season.
They've done far more damage to the water supply than any pipeline breach could cause.
Newt is doing it again to fat candy(sounds like a mobster). He just handled her like one would handle a school child. So quick an easy. She has to be getting volumes in her ear right now. They are desperate to get anything on Newt and so far very little.
Watched a wee bit of all the pathetic Sunday News Shows.
I had to ask forgiveness from The Lord after screaming vulgarities at Joe Scarborough on MTP. This guy has got a lot of nerve to question anybodies Conservative credentials!
Joe Scarborough sold out long ago on any kind of Conservative thinking...He is such a scumbag, I do not even know where to start?
It should have been Sarah Palin last night, but it`s not, so Newt is the best we have, but for Scarborough to be talking about who or who is not Conservative, is just outrages.
Katrina Vandernoodle got away with saying that the liberal media claim, is just a myth. Not a peep out of George Will to correct her, not surprized,Will sold out years and years ago to be the ABC token “Conservative”.
