Back in the day when I watched CBS News, I thought Threlkeld was far above most of his peers.
RIP, sir.

He was good. He was from the Dragnet school of reporting: “Just the facts, ma’am...”

AP used this line....
"....when his car collided with a propane tanker."
They conveniently let out a little fact...."...when his 2008 Mini-Cooper collided with a propane tanker"
Newsday has a picture of the car, but I am unsure about posting rules for Newsday photos

I most remember her from the news inserts she did during Saturday morning cartoons on SeeBS.

Wiki has already been updated.
Threlkeld was killed in an accident on January 13, 2012 in Amagansett, New York. His car collided head on with a propane truck.[2] He was 74.

Note the Franken bumper sticker. Apparently a fan of intellectually challenged politicians.

It's been so long since I watched MSM that I'd forgotten about Threlkeld. I do recall I used to like his reporting. Very sad.
I drove a Mini once over in England. Really liked it -- fun. Will take my chances in my F250 over here, though.

News media never gets anything correct, car looks like it slide sideways into the front of the truck, little car stood up pretty well unless the truck was parked.

I don’t see any airbags? Thought they were mandatory post ‘99 or thereabouts. Not sure how effective they’d be in any case.

"when his 2008 Mini-Cooper collided with a propane tanker" I'm only 59, but I've already gone for bulk over nimble (although nothing would help me one-on-one against a propane truck).

” correspondent who worked for both CBS and ABC News “
May be my creaky ol’ memory playing tricks, but I vaguely remember him as a local reporter for one of the Chicago TV stations back in the early 60s....
Either way, he was one of the ‘old school’ good reporters...
RIP

Just looked at a satellite pic of the area. Looks like a controlled intersection with decent visibility. Any word on how Threlkeld came to be t-boned?

Hank Hill was the driver and he was a GWB fan. Therefore it is Bush’s fault!
